To me it seems Naruto has always cheaped out on the animation quality but with this fight they really put a lot of cash into it.

Well I wouldn’t go that far but yeah it was up there in quality fights.

OT: well it was an opening fight scene for a movie so it had to be boss. Especially since it was showcasing one of, if not the first, animated Adult Sasuke fight:scorps:

Pain vs Kyuubi would have been better to me but they ruined it with the high rate low quality style animation.

I'm expecting disappointment when the fight pans out in the series. Like almost DBS recap quality level. Eh, maybe not that bad but close imo

Kakashi vs Obito, Naruto vs Sasuke, Madara vs The Shinobi Alliance, Sakura vs Shin, Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki and maybe, MAYBE, Naruto vs Toneri were all animated better than Sasuke vs Kinshiki IMO.

Well, its not like they haven't reused animation before. Maybe they could just take the movie's scenes and add a bit more to it so its longer rather than reanimating everything from zero. Better than a crappy reanimated fight anyway.

Fair enough, my fav is still either vote1 sans flashbacks or kakashi vs hidan and kakuzu, art quality obviously wasn’t as good as sasuke vs kin but the animation was fluid and there was lil to no derpiness or drop in actual “art quality” imo, they looked consistent throughout

^Agreed with this, and I don’t even like anime fights like that but Kakashi started pushing Obito to use his actual skill and it was impressive. Even using shikamaru’s cloth balloon trick in the smoke, I never thought I’d see that again.

Pain vs Jiraiya was a close second for me.
