He wasn't evil, he was a troll just like you
i am not trolling i just had this feeling from reading the last issue of manga kabuto's life was saved thanks to him. that made me think was he evil or was he simply a guy gone mad. or maybe i am over thinking it just seems to me that kishi wants to show that very few are actually dark most are grey. naruto is white granted but most like sasuke or itachi or nagato or oro they seem grey to me. i may be wrong though.

ambitious for power most of the kages or uchichas. experimenting on children equivalent to creating jinks. taking over bodies is something i cant explain. killed his former teacher what do you think nagato did with jman played pingpong?
Sigh....fine, lets see what good deeds Orochimaru did.

^ He helped his Sannin buddies take on Hanzo during the war.

^ Orochimaru gives Tsunade's First Hokage necklace back to her when Nawaki was killed.

Other than that, not much. Orochimaru has been evil for a long time. It can't be helped. He turned into a tragic villain because his parents were killed.

now thats something i can understand its just some of his works like the ones you said or the ones like saving kabuto makes me think he wasnt a cold hearted bastard as we were made to think. kishi has started adding shades to character later in shippuden, way after his death, think of it he never shown a character who is important yet is one track pony did he?

There are times where Kabuto tried to sympathize with Orochimaru, and Oro either glared at him or threatened to kill him.

I also suppose Oro just wanted Kabuto because he was really talented at medical ninjutsu at a young age and among other things.

who said Nagato was good? I sure don't like him. He killed pervy sage!
On a serious note: Orochimaru was evil. He wasn't always evil....he TURNED evil. Just as Nagato TURNED evil and then TURNED good in the end.

I LOVE the pingpong joke. hilarious!

my point exactly that perhaps he could be saved unlike hidan of kakuzu i consider evil which is beyond redemption

Thanks!
I must confess I loved those scenes where Orochimaru glared at him. Priceless!

sure he didnt maybe because he didnt need to. then uzushio was wiped out but the villages responsible are not seen as evil. its all perspective if you are a iwa citizen wont minato be evil to you?
Completely agree! It is all perspective. Evil is relative to each person. There is no such thing as an evil choice, only less valid choices. However, in the world of semantics, we may not all have the same definition of "evil", so be careful that you are talking about the same thing with other members.

All I have to say after intense study is that there is no such thing as evil. If you look further down the metaphorical "rabbit hole", you will likely discover the same answer. How deep into the subject do you want to go? Oh wait, we have lives, we have things to do like pretend that we learned the difference between right and wrong. Even Plat himself struggled with that question. Yet, people think they are confident they know the answer. It's not that easy. Study Jacque Fresco if you are interested on the subject of "evil"

Ohhh!! Now I get it. We just have a different definition of evil. I don't consider evil to be the point beyond redemption and if I were to use your definition then Orochimaru is definitely not evil. In fact, nobody in the whole narutoverse would be evil. You can always come back. There is no sin that can't be forgiven. Atleast that's what I think.

sure he breached the limit, he demolished the rules searched for eternal life that drove him mad but was he evil?
1. he was mad granted but compare him to madara and danzo he is not evil.
2.think can a person be evil and win undying loyalties of someone like kabuto or kimimaro hell anyof the sound five

3.the kages had others killed too that should make them evil aswell.
4.he used edo tensai big deal tobirama created it to be used.
5.he cared for kabuto, he cared for kimimaro too he was a person that was turned wrong his pursuit for knowledge made him mad.
6.can we compare him to kakuzu who would do everything for money or even hidan who lived for killing.
7.he created cursed seal and thats vile but then creating jinks are too.

he did nothing others didnot yet he is shown as monster i kinda find it hypocritical.and lastly as in harry potter dumbledore said evil is too strong a word. in my view only kakuzu and hidan are evil rest bad villainous all true but not evil. some would say he tried to destroy konoha dude other villages wiped out uzu so same again. what do you guys think?
What kind of non-evil person would run lethal experiments on children?

Enough said.

honestly he was a good kid/gu all the way up tell nawaki and dan death.

i think what j-man and hiruzen said that he went down that path for his parents had something to do with it.

but over time i guess he changed thats when he went evil
