Was Obito redundant?

In the last chap, Madara stated he made Obito into the bad guy we all saw him as, he knew about him even before the boulder incident, he basically handpicked HIM to carry his Moon-Eye plan. He planned to make him evil; he implanted black zetsu inside him, the curse on the heart, the white zetsus along with the other black zetsu… All of this to get him to gather the bijuus, rivive the jubbi and finally Madara so that Madara would become the jubbi host…

WHY???

Why did he even need/want obito to do all of this? Why not nagato? The one he gave the rennigan to in the first place, why give someone power to revive you and not manipulate them but rather manipulate someone else to manipulate the guy you gave the power to? Think about it, if he had done to Nagato all the things he did to Obito, the story would have been exactly the same…

The plan was for Obito to con Nagato into reviving Madara. That way Madara would still have Obito for backup in case something went wrong.

He hadn't come into contact with Nagato, and Obito would've been much easier to sway into doing the Mugen Tsukiyomi.

The plan was for Obito to con Nagato into reviving Madara. That way Madara would still have Obito for backup in case something went wrong.

Nagato + black zetsu would've gotten the job done, if Madara just stayed with Nagato he would have relised how easy it was to get him to do it (since nagato really wanted peace) and Madara never viewed Obito as an ally and that's why he had zetsus

When he met Obito, he'd already given his eyes but made no effort to use Nagato, we don't(and Madz didn't) know who would be easier to control... Nagato turned out to be the easier one since he was prepared to die for peace
But anyway Madara made no effort to manipulate Nagato but left things to the person who didn't have the power to achieve his goal

Madara was most likely under the assumption that Nagato would die from reviving him with Rinne Tensei.

He needed Obito because he needed a back-up.

Obito didn't have rinnegan so he needed him to guide Nagato and eventually use him to revive . He must of though that Obito would eventually betray him if he gives him the Rinnegan.

Madara gave his eyes to Nagato before he met Obito, why did he not meet with Nagato and do what he did to Obito? Why wait years in order to manipulate someone else into manipulating Nagato when he could have done so himself? And again black zetsu was the backup

Obito didn't have rinnegan so he needed him to guide Nagato and eventually use him to revive . He must of though that Obito would eventually betray him if he gives him the Rinnegan.

I'm saying Madara could have eliminated Obito from his plan all together, after he gave nagato the eyes, tell him why(and place the curse and black zetsu in Nagato) and groom him to capture the beasts(like he did with Obito) and then once his satisfied Nagato will do his bidding then unplug him self from the mazo.

P.S. Nagato wouldn't have tried to do the moon eye plan himself (like Obito) since he din't have a sharingan and/or Hashi DNA to control the jubbi.

Okay nagato has his eyes, and now look...

He used it to revive a whole village, he was easily swayed by naruto within 2 chapters.

It took Obito like how many chapters to change his mind.

Without Obito, Nagato wouldn't even know how to use rinne tensei.

He'll be using fuuton: gales palm all day long

Obito killed the fourth hokage, he massacred his clan, he stole kurama from it's jinchuuriki & sent it on the leaf, he lead a criminal organization, plus he has the body & the eyes of hagoromo.

Nagato was easily manipulated, he believed in naruto/yahiko's way of achieving peace, & he wasn't a proper match for the gedo statue due to lack of the proper dna.

Obito did everything better than nagato, nagato was merely a vessel for madara to store his eyes.

because nagato wasn't pure before. He was at risk of turning on madara... like he did. Obito was better for the reason madz said.
