Naruto didn't really change his fate. It was either fight Sasuke or die.

Yes he was! I never bashed about kishi's writing but he is an idiot for killing Neji to trigger Hinatard and Naruto's pairing, I was really upset when I read the interview because Neji was one of the greatest ninja in part 1 and despite the fact that he didn't develop him in part 2 he was still a great character and I can't believe he just kill him because of his lack of abilities to write decent female characters and love stories.

Neji was that popular 0_0. He's just a side character (not even a big one to begin with). Was Neji disrespected, I would say yes and no at the same time. Personally, I didn't care about Neji.

It was a low move and a major hit to Neji's whole character. Part 1 Neji was developed so well, especially with his fight with Kidomaru. Neji would have been better off dying to the spider guy if he was just going to get this shit treatment at the end all for a pairing that was never properly developed in the first place and needed a damn movie to be canon.

Neji used to be my third favourite character after Sasuke and Gaara, so to see his death displayed in such a way for two characters who mean absolutely nothing to me, and just a way for them to "become closer" is absolutely sickening. If Kishimoto needed a way for Naruto and Hinata to become closer then he should have found a way for them to react earlier in the manga instead of wasting such potential on a character that had much promise. This is also a very poor way of writing and trying to finalize someone's character. Kishimoto is basically saying that Neji's death was basically just a little display for Naruto and Hinata to bond. That's disgraceful.

Neji's death didn't even make any sense. Why didn't he just bring him back? If Kishimoto's poor reaosn for killing Neji is because of a NH moment then he should not have a reason to kill him off permanently. There have been plenty of characters that have died and then been revived. Why is Neji any different? Neji still had room to grow and discover new things. Jiraiya and Asuma already served their time and passed on their torch to the next generation. Neji did not get a chance to receive that opportunity yet and now he never will. Hell, even Gaara and Kakashi faced similar deaths and they were somehow brought back. Kakashi is much older than Neji and yet he was saved. Why is that? It's because Kishi doesn't have the balls to kill off someone like Kakashi or Gaara but he has the balls to kill off Neji because he assumes that Neji is not so important enough to keep around so he just got rid of him for an asinine NH moment. How ridiculous.

Can someone also tell me why Onoki is still alive and Neji is dead?

Kishimoto's manga is just another horribly written fanservice dialogue that should not be taken seriously anymore. I'm glad that Sasuke isn't a part of this horribly written romance material. If Kishi were to write Sasuke and romance together he would just ruin his character dramatically. And to be honest, I'm glad that Neji is dead. Finally he can live on and not be succumbed to poor development from Kishi any further.

As much as it would have made sense for Neji to die in part 1, my Sasuke would have gotten even more heat than he already has right now.

Neji was a huge character in part 1 and was written great! It's sad to see how he became really irrelevant in part 2 (despite becoming the only K11 to become Jounin).

And him dying.....don't get me started. What others have said about him not needing to die is correct. He really didn't have to die for the sake of NH or at very least if he put is life on the line, bring him back like he did with every other character essentially.

This was just poorly written by him. The idea of him wanting to do pairings SOO badly that he would trash a good character is just pathetic.
