Was Nagato a "Genius" as a child?

Facepalm.

One of the Rinnegan's gifts is an affinity for all five elements, if Sasuke had the Rinnegan, he would've mastered them in a much shorter time.

And he didn't control natural rain, he made rain. As for the bodies, you do know he had years to practise and hone his ability to control corpses. And solo'ing fodder is hardly a feat, considering it only happened out of fear and couldn't control the Rinnegan's power.

hmm i say he is comparable to itachi, other than that he is indeed on par with genius levels.

I don't him a genius. He was given that power. And without it, he would be fodder.

He's obviously regarded as a genius.
But, please don't compare him to Sasuke and Neji or even Itachi. They're all different characters, introduced at different times with different purposes. They're all geniuses in their own ways.

One thing that caught my attention ._.
"His chakra control is superior to any seen in the manga. ( Obito Showed the ability to "Control" The six paths, but not to the same extent as Nagato)" - This isn't a chakra control feat. This means his mastery over the jutsu in theory exceeds that of Obito. I say in theory because they used the paths in different ways. Imo its not comparable.

You can say is genius if you want. Dam... You can call 10-10 genius if you want to. But manga never state that

I laughed when you said Sasuke and Itachi don't compare to him, that's funny because both of those pure Uchiha would own him.

Sasuke owned 2 chuunin's in part 1 first mission.

Part 2, he took out multiple shinobi's with just his sword, even Orochimaru called him a superior genius.
(Orochimaru who was said to be able to take out a small country).

Itachi at age 13 owned a bunch of jounin anbu

I'd say he's gifted for mastering the chakra natures (but then again, it was easier for him to do so with the rinnegan), but I wouldn't call him a genius. I do think that he is quite intelligent though.
