Was Minato a Senju?

Well I always asked myself this... if he's not, he's for certain related to one.

I once read something about how the second hokage had a daughter that married a namikaze and minato being the grandson or great grandson of tobirama.

It was in some jap mag, leaked info, fiction or dunno what precisely anymore.

True or not, i thought it sounded kewl.

Their techniques are simlar.
They both are able to sense enemies by touching the ground with their finger and they both use spacetimejutsus without sharingan.
Similar hairstyle and attitude.

In the anime, for as far as that counts, the second hokage had a sword called sword of the thundergod. So they even both use this thundergod name for their jutsu.

Your theory is a plausible one.
It's been hinted that Naruto has Senju blood running through his veins (example below) and him/Sasuke being destined to fight falls in line of Uchiha vs Senju.

With his mother being Uzumaki then there is a possibility that Minato is of Senju descent; connecting Naruto to the bloodline.

And everyone saying "he's a Namikaze" are idiots .. You have two parents & one last name.
Technically, Naruto's last name should be Namikaze but it's Uzumaki due to a certain reason.
Does that mean the Namikaze blood isn't in his veins? Of course not.

don't go too far,we never heard that uzamakis were relative to the 2nd son.don't bring us your imagination,they have nothing to do with the 2nd son.until now what we heard is that some of them were distant relatives to the senju.that is all.

It's possible. If Minato were indeed of Senju descent, it's a possibility that he did not receive the name for his own protection, kind of how Naruto was given the name Uzumaki to keep other villages from knowing he is Minato's son.
