Was Madara's scythe anything special?

Will his scythe ever be brought into play? Surely as the top Uchiha was using it, it must have been a pretty epic weapon like the sword of kusanagi, war fan, 7 swordsmen swords, etc are. Or was it just a fodder scythe that Tenten has a thousand of in her scroll?

it was just a normal weapon but it could be special like the gunbai

It looks epic thats reason enough to use it.

Havent really thought about his scythe to be honest.. I won't be surprised though if it has some special ability like the kusanagi where it can extend.

It's connected to his gunbai fan. (or at least it used to be) and we've seen a cool jutsu with his fan so I wouldn't be surprised at all if his scyth may be able to do some tricks/jutsu's as well !
