Yes, yes, I get it. A lot of people are making that claim, but its not quite what I'm asking. Of course normal people during Rikudo's era couldn't use chakra the way we see it being used now. The point of this thread was to question why Kaguya ate the fruit. I am simply making the claim that it seems more likely she was influenced into doing it rather than doing it on a whim. Who influenced her would be the only question, and as many pointed out, people could not use chakra, hence they couldn't use genjutsu. So this leaves us with few candidates for those able to wield such a power...but there are some.
Perhaps it was the fruit itself that tempted Kaguya to eat it.

Nice!! Finally, I've been waiting to hear that. I think this is really something people should consider. Why isn't anyone suppose to touch the fruit? Why was that piece of info left off the tablet? etc. etc. I think what you say is definitely a possibility. That, or there was another who ate the fruit prior to Kaguya. Kaguya had a child, this is why Ninshu was spread. Is it possible some one ate the fruit long before Kaguya and this is how she knew about the fruits powers? People will say, "oh well if some one had ate the fruit before Kaguya people would have been able to use ninjutsu." But, that's not exactly true because it was Kaguya's son who was responsible for the spread of chakra manipulation. This prior "fruit-eater" didn't have a child.

Since the fruit only grows once a millenia it's entirely possible that somone did eat it before Kaguya and then was killed by the Juubi. But I think the fruit itself calls out to people and sort of tempts them with"Hey,do you want power? Then eat me."It's possible the GodTree fruit called out to Kaguya who wanted to stop the endless fighting that raged in her time.

Exactly, I like your thought process. In fact, I wrote a whole thread about the fruit if you care to read.

The point I was making about another person eating the fruit is that they would be the only ones with the knowledge as to what the fruit does. Or at least, be an example of the power the fruit gives you.
