Was Kabuto (During the war) really stronger than Orochimaru?

As for me I can't really answer this. We got a great amount of kabuto's techniques. But with orochimaru being a sannin and on a verge of achieving immortality I'm questioning it?

Due to the fact that he could take in an unlimited supply of chakra while in sage mode thanks to having orochimaru's chakra to sustain the feat.He also had karins dna which let him essentially replicates oro's ability to be immune to psychical attacks however he went one step further by being able to quickly heal after any attack making psychical attacks irrelevant completely.

Combine this with to manipulate the earth itself,protrude bones from his body for a simultaneously attacking and defending stance coupled with being so fast he can dodge susano arrows point blank,unlimited edo tensei' summons,being completely immune to sound justu and genjustu or any combination of the two (except izanami) He was pretty much immune to everything.And lets not forget his espionage skills and most likely immune to almost every poison liek sasuke since he is the one performed the procedure on him.

Also the fact he knew pretty much everything there was to know about any ninja worth knowing and their skills was a huge advantage.

Oh and one more thing lol His serum to suppress mokuton

Then you need to re read that fight he had plenty over orochimaru at that point in time
Some of it was due to the dna and having oro's chakra but the outcome was kabuto being stronger then anyone at that point in time.

This is why kishi had to create izanami or there would of been no way to kill him.

It's an invalid question. About half his power came from orochimaru. It could never be a fight between that kabuto and orochimaru because if one exist the other can't

The only differences between him and kabuto is the fact that oro does not have the sound 5 dna however he doesn't need it because he was able to use sage mode on his own to begin with and could already tank any attack that came his way which is what the sound 5 dna let kabuto do.

Just not in battle because his body at the time was a host body and was not strong enough.
