So I was on Tvtropes because I was bored and I came across this:

At first it appears that Sasuke, while being fairly intelligent and very talented, is constantly being neglected in favor of his genius older brother Itachi, whom his father always praised with the words "as expected of my child", while Sasuke only ever got an unimpressed "Become more like Itachi." But later we see that this only applies to his father Fugaku, while his mother Mikoto is shown treating Sasuke with great kindness while only line we ever see her speak to Itachi is "Do your homework!", so its looks as if every parent favours one of the two.

Later in the story, some dissent arises between Itachi and his parents as Itachi didn't think too highly of their plan to take over the village and start a world war and it becomes apparent that his parents cared more for his incredible talent than for Itachi as a person. Fugaku soon turns his interest to Sasuke, tells him not to be like Itachi, complains about his older son to the rest of the family and Mikoto states that when they're alone, all her husband and her ever talk about is Sasuke, cementing that Itachi was the actual unfavourite all long.

But ultimately, their parents loved them both very much. When Itachi comes to kill them, both Fugaku and Mikoto are shown to be aware of his massive turmoil, and they tell him that they understand his reasons and decisions, offering no resistence as he tearfully executes them.

So I'm confused on who really was the favorite. Because Mikoto saying that could have been just comforting Sasuke. So what do you all think?

Probably Itachi, even at the end they loved him...I'm not 100% but I think it's Itachi

Itachi, they even knew about his coup and still loved him.

Not saying they didn't like Sasuke. But his mother did say that when they were alone they only talked about sasuke...

Still, my vote is Itachi.

Well apparently.... fugaku only talked about Sasuke when he talked with his wife.

He was extremely proud of Itachi because of how skilled he was at such a age... but i feel the attention he gave to him was above all because Itachi was older and ready to be put to work.

So i'd say Sasuke may actually have the edge in the end.

I love how NB blurred out his name.

But isn't Sasuke's father's name Fugaku?

In private, Fugaku favored Sasuke. This was before Itachi's fall from grace. Mikoto said he always talked about Sasuke. However, Fugaku wanted Sasuke to earn his respect and love. Thus, Fugaku rarely gave him praise. Sasuke needed to earn. When Sasuke passed what was basically the Uchiha coming of age at seven, Fugaku praised him but saw how Sasuke idolized his brother. Thus, his advice was to be his own man, not to become a mini-Itachi which is very good advice.
You're correct towards the end Fugaku has falling out with Itachi over the coup. I don't think this was the reason he turning to Sasuke. The difference wasn't that Itachi had fallen from grace, causing Fugaku to love Sasuke more. the most obvious difference was that Sasuke had earned his father's admiration.
