Itachi cannot even cast a Genjutsu in the start of a scene where nothing happens. Eye contacts and finger Genjutsu doesn't work against Guy. Deal with it.. Guy highly beat Itachi. Only fanboying disagrees with this. Yata Mirror and Totsuka are useless against Guy. Ama useless as well.

They are both my favorite characters in naruto. But, I dont believe itachi said those things to kisame to imply that gai is more powerful than him. Itachi just never underestimates his opponent, he is very analytical. He is more likely to overestimate someone than underestimate in my opinion.
