Us reading Naruto illegally? I was just thinking about how awesome it'd be to meet Kishi, but then thought that it might be awkward because he'd know how I read his great work for free.
I don't understand how the whole reading-manga-for-free thing works.
Collectively, did we all cost Kishi a significant amount of money?
Do you think he bears some ill feelings towards us?
I'd hate to be resented by someone I think so highly of.

I bought final volume 72 from Amazon if that means anything lol. I'll buy whichever volume features Guy vs Madara next. I'd like to own all of them someday, starting with the ones that feature my favorite chapters

Nah, he's making hella money from Japan alone. Those who just happen to see Volumes in the store usually pick them up because why not right? But yeah, we probably have costed him some money. But not too much that he is poor, he is still probably a multi-millionare. If not a billionare.

Ok good haha. Plus, he's a very humble man from what I've seen of him. He didn't write one of the best stories ever primarily for money

Knowing his manga is popular around the world is enough for Kishi. Money drop to second place.

Sounds right to me. Must be one hell of a feeling being the creator of such a phenomenon. Bet he's still in disbelief of Naruto's global popularity

Edit: @rollin lol can't say I agree. I still was ecstatic about waking up on Wednesdays (later Thursdays) to read those chapters, crappy translations or not

Yeah, I definitely miss that rush of refreshing every 2 minutes to see if the chapter was out yet, or otherwise waking up to a new chapter. I miss guessing how the next chapter would play out, and theorizing about the future developments. I miss that comfort of knowing that the series I was so invested in for so long was still going.

All good things must end, I suppose. Anyway, I own all of the volumes in English.
