Was it bad writing that Tsuande and the Gokage survived?

I wouldn't necessarily call it bad writing, but it did seem a bit pointless.

Tsunade was on the verge of death, and many believed she would make some sort of noble sacrifice to revive the other Kages, along with leaving the Hokage spot open for Naruto. The fact that she could simply be revived without any obvious side-effects makes a bit unbelievable, especially since most other characters that died suffered from much less severe wounds.

Hopefully their revival will lead up to a good pay-off in the future. I'd hate to see Kishi do something like this just to solve the issue of what the villages would do if their Kages all died in the war. It would seem like the laziest option in that case.

it's been hinted a lot of times that she won't die.
Obito survived being crushed by a huge rock.

If Tsuande wasn't intended to be killed off I don't see why she needed to be chopped in half, especially since they way she survived was lame as shit, Suigetsu puts her body back together while she bites some Uzumaki chick -_-

is to assure that Naruto will be the next Hokage
so she won't die, maybe she'll pass the title to Naruto
just like what Hiruzen did to Minato

If Tsunade dies, the Feudal Lord and the Elders will never pick Naruto as Hokage [not at this point]
they'll definitely choose Kakashi or anyone..

OT: IMO yes.


1. Tsunade was literally split in half.

2. Katsuyu offers to SAVE Tsunade, but she declines for the Kage (noble sacrifice).

3. Sakura had basically taken her medical role leaving Tsunade as the exact same archetype in battle. Basically if she comes back she's taking over Sakura's role.


Combining the vibe Kishi gave during this scene... It was like Tsunade's final moments.


The Gokage as a collective surviving makes sense because Tsunade would save them; however, Tsunade living as well does not story wise.
