Was Ino and Sakura's conversation more important than this fight?

Was this a good idea

Kishi decided to skip Tenten VS Temari and instead decided to show Ino and Sakura conversing with each other ( )( )( ). Do you think this was a wise idea? I personally don't think it was.

I didn't pick up the manga until the early stages of the War Arc, so I had no idea that this fight was even skipped in the manga. The anime did include the fight from what I remember, and it probably would not have been too interesting had the manga touched upon it, just TenTen launching weapons and Temari repelling them with her fan.

As for the Sakura/Ino conversation completely overshadowing the fight, I would say that it wasn't a good idea. Kishi could have just shown Sakura and Ino resolving their issue in a few panels as we previously got to see the background of that conflict in the Forest of Death.

Kishi gives no figs about tenten, Kishi established that in part 1 and cemented that further in part 2. Tenten could die off panel and Kishi wouldn't even show it.

This is true and in the 4th databook, only Tenten and Temari received half a databook page each instead of their peers the K11 and Sand Siblings who got at least a full page.

OT: Weird/repetitive convos always took so much panels in manga. Never understood why.
This is true.
I would have rather seen Temari's fight but then again it was basically tenten just getting her ass whooped so I guess there was no point.
Who wouldn't enjoy Temari being all badass and shitting on her opponent?
Why was it? What did it contribute?

Nah Ino slapping Sakura was entertaining and is better than whatever Temari destroying Tenten would have shown.

How long have you repressed this thought?

No, they were both pretty cliche and didn't have an interesting dynamic rivalry/conversations unlike a lot of other rivals in the manga. Seriously though, how is reading the chitchat between two bratty butthurt girls better than seeing Temari act all badass in both words and demeanour while flexing an aura of power and brutality in the arena?

There is more to the fight than Tenten throwing weapons and Temari repelling them. Temari casually repelling them without effort while toying around with Tenten and ridiculing her efforts would have been quite entertaining. Also it gives both characters some panel time and feats.

Well, I don't really think there was much to show considering how quickly Temari won the match, but nonetheless, it was still pointless to show their boring conversation. I mean, the fight by itself was already shitty, so Kishi could have saved that for another time and more time showing the current fight that was Temari and Tenten.
