Was Gaiden A Missed Opportunity?

So I was thinking, was gaiden a missed opportunity to show pretty much everyone involved unnerfed? It’s mainly about sarada awakening the sharingan and meeting sasuke and confirming her mom. The anime had plenty of leeway, or even the manga now that I think about it, nothing else in it was really relevant to the plot. They could of used it to show everyone unnerfed for once with no consequences whatsoever. The anime could of done it even bigger and really showed off what they could do. Threads like this have probably been made, but I’m not sure for the anime version, they did up vote2, so why not, and considering how early it is in boruto it might of been a good opportunity to snag new viewers, who knows... thoughts?

It was saradas story so seeing them go out would of taken away from her moment, that's why Naruto and sasuke were nerfed in boruto the movie

Those moments still would of been new to us and just as impactful, as none of it really involved her actual fighting, and nothing nardo or sauce would of done would of been new, just cool to see them do as adults

Gaiden would of been a lot better, even more emotional. But the only thing that happened was SS fan's crying for 3 weeks, then trying to damage control the last 2-3 chapters.

Gaiden was definitely a missed chance. I mean Shin should've been dead after the first punch from Sakura but she was holding back for some reason (He was trying to kill her husband and kid but she held back?). Idk why they nerfed Team 7 yet again.

Lol no arguments there. Kishi couldn’t even have Sasuke kiss his wife ffs yeah there was room for more, but I think they were trying to move away from Naruto’s gen and Shin wasn’t exactly go all out material.

Maybe a more prominent/powerful villain might have warranted this. I mean none of them used their full strength. Even Sakura.

Still looking back, it is probably best that they didn’t go all out. Not really interested in the giant avatar mountain busting fights tbh.

That’s what I’m saying tho, gaiden had enough leeway in the anime to change something like how big of a threat main shin was. They could of changed quite a bit to give us some stop all fight scenes, and still kept the part of Gaiden pertinent to the plot intact. Unless
Of course they have further plans for shin, but bar that the studio had a good opportunity here and kinda dropped the ball imo

I pretty much agree, gaiden had much better potential than what they did with it. They would of been just fine having shin be someone else entirely and still had the same effect, that’s what boggles my mind about it. They knew the gaiden manga wasn’t that well received in the big picture, but couldn’t be bothered to address those points in the anime? They did a fine job with sakura, and vote2, so know they can do it. Literally everyone cried foul on sasuke and narutos nerfs, and I honestly don’t think showing them unnerfed a bit would of affected anything as far as being saradas story

Extending her fight scene against shin they did, it was cool to watch, i didn’t mean character wise or anything
