Was Asuma just a fodder ninja losing to a fodder Akatsuki like Hidan?

the only reason he lost to hidan was because of the lack of information they had on him that fact that kakazu had to put him back together oh yeah and the face that he was immortal and his teamates were useless outside of shikamaru so no he isnt fodder

No. He beat Hidan but Kakuzu helped him out. Also, they had no knowledge and many people can lose against Hidan without knowledge.
