What are Asuma's skills again? I remember him belling out smoke then igniting it to cause fire but that's it

he the fire release, the wind chakra blades, and the invisible monk shield. plus he has significantly good taijutsu that he was able to fodderize ten ninjas single handedly with just tai back in part 1.

I think that Hidan gets extremely underrated due to his lack of truly OP techniques that other Akatsuki members have. But his immortality itself is OP enough, and he was damn good with his taijutsu and that scythe. I think Asuma losing to him doesnt make him a fodder by any means.

He was killed by an S Rank Criminal who has an extremely powerful jutsu. Asuma was able to decapitate Hidan and he would still be alive if Kakuzu didn't re-attach Hidan's head. To top it off he was a member of the guardian 12 so I don't think he is fodder at all.

No. He beat Hidan but Kakuzu helped him out. Also, they had no knowledge and many people can lose against Hidan without knowledge.

If your counting kakuzu helping as loosing, you shouls count shikamaru's helping as loosing. Asuma took about 5 seconds to be scratched.
