I'm not shocked to see that was Madara's plan.
But it wasn't a perfect plan , Obito betrayed him , Nagato betrayed him...
Madara got lucky to be edo-tenseid.
Orochimaru makes perfect plans , not Madara , Madara is just very powerfull , totally manipulated by the tablet and crazy.

the planing of the attack of the mist shinobi and puting the 3tails in rin yes, I always thought that was his doing, certainly had my suspicions when the chapter came out in obito's flashback.
kisame's flashback with the mizukage and long haired madara must have been the real madara, befor he activated the rinnegan and got attached to the statue. because the mizukage was the host of the 3 tails and would have died if they put it in rin. so I'm guessing that moment in time took place long befor his actual death.
so kisame was already in his service and could have had a hand in all the preparations with rin and the 3 tails using zetsu as a messenger.
perhaps when madara activated his rinegan and summoned the statue this had an effect on his body that he instantly required the statue's power to survive. and using it to grow the big tree. this might explain kisame not being to much aged over all this time.
but I don't think madara had a hand in the affairs with kakashi, obito and rin. since obito just awaked his sharingan right then and there and had never manifested his slipping through ability. that was a bit of luck for madara I think. I do belive he was looking for the right uchiha to bring into his service and might have had him under servailance. most scertainly he was involved with the retreval of his body but I don't think he would risk his death if he was the perfect candidate.
