Well I was wondering if anyone has seen the movie Warrior with Tom Hardy.

If you have I want to get some opinions on the movie and discuss it.

If you haven't and don't want anything spoiled don't press the show button.

Well anyway Tom Hardy plays the character Tommy Riordan in this movie, and it starts out with him and his father meeting up on his father's doorstep after 14 years without contact.

His father was an abusive, drunk ex-marine, who beat their mom and I assume them as well.

So as a kid he, his mom and his older brother played by Joel Edgerton, were all set to leave home and run away from his father, but his older brother stays because he has a girlfriend and he wants his father's approval as Tommy was the favored child.

So sometime after that a teenage Tommy has to deal with his mom's death all by himself, and later goes into the marines. In the marines he watches the air force bomb all of his troop, including his best friend, and he goes AWOL.

But as he is leaving the country he comes across a tank going underwater, and he rescues the soldiers inside, then leaves and goes back home.

Once there he goes back to his father to train for a huge MMA tournament, to win 5 million dollars to give to his best friend's widow. But the publicity gets him recognized first as the hero who saved those men and then later as someone who went AWOL.

His brother also is in this MMA tournament to get the prize money so that he can keep his house. His brother Brendan is a high school physics teacher who can't pay his rent.

So the whole tournament is them on opposite sides, with Tommy being the crowd favorite and being the better fighter but not wanting any of it, and his brother being the underdog and fighting for his home. Tommy resents his brother for not coming with him and his mother when they ran away by the way.

So in the finals Tommy is beating his brother pretty easily, but his brother accidentally breaks his arm in the third round. Tommy lasts until the 5th round but taps out after being put in a chokehold.

Anyway I think Tommy should have won, don't you? I know it would have made the ending not as heartfelt, but I think Tommy deserved to win, don't you? He was the dark horse the entire time and did so much to redeem his character flaws. I think he should have won.
