"…some punk with a gun"
thereel-sasuke:
This chapter was possible the most defining chapter in the history of Sasuke’s character development to.this.day.
It is also one of the most thought-provoking, intensely heart-wrenching chapters I have ever read. This chapter blew my mind like nothing else, if not only because I’m about to liken Sasuke to Batman.

So before I get to the utterly geeky point of this post (if the title didn’t give it away…), I want to share this little conversation between Batman and Justice lord Batman from Justice League, the Animated Series: ((A little background info for those who haven’t watched it: Batman is talking to a version of himself who came from an alternate earth where the Justice League is basically a bunch of tyrants enforcing their idea of justice))
Lord Batman: What’re you hiding for?
Batman: I do my best work in the dark.
Lord Batman: I used to think that, too. But what have you ever accomplished from there? Besides from scaring a few punks half to death and putting a few more in jail.
Batman: It all adds up.
Lord Batman: Not fast enough. If you really want to make a difference, want to change the system instead of just patching it, you’ve got to step into the sunlight. Take over, like we did.
Lord Batman: Think about it - a world where there’s no crimes. No victims. No pain.
Batman: And no choice! Who elected you, anyway?
Lord Batman: Who elected you? The problem with democracy is, it doesn’t keep you very safe.
Batman: It has other virtues. But you seem to have forgotten that.
Lord Batman: I didn’t forget! I just chose peace and security instead.
Batman: You grabbed power!!
Lord Batman: And with that power, we’ve made a world where no eight-year-old boy will ever lose his parents because of some punk with a gun!
Now we get back to Sasuke.
He had to live in the darkness with bitter experiences +the people treated him like a criminal/trator and he shouldered all of this by himself, but even so he chose to protect Konoha from the shadows:

I will deal with it alone; all of the shinobi’s problems we face, I’d come with solutions…judgments and executions …I’ll do all of it.

Sasuke is going to shoulder all the darkness so some 8 year old kid won’t have to go through the same thing he did.
Think about that for a second, really think about it. “we’ve made a world where no eight-year-old boy will ever lose his parents because of some punk with a gun!”
Sasuke…Doesn’t want some 8 year old kid to be hurt because of someone else’s actions.
Sasuke = Batman
I grew up watching Batman the animated series and I thought he was cool, but his character never really had that much depth to me until I started reading the comics.
Batman is a lonely person. He pushes others away in his quest so stop evil. He refuses help (most often from Superman) because he thinks he needs to shoulder the darkness of the world alone.
He doesn’t want to drag others into the abyss with him because he ‘knows’ there is no turning back.
And that’s what this is about.
Sasuke is that man who is willing to lay himself in the trench so his comrades can walk over him to reach higher ground.
He is willing to lose everything (his reputation, his soul even) in order to stop the very thing that took so much of HIS life away….because of “some punk with a gun”
The problem being Sasuke doesn’t have to do it alone because he is surrounded with people who love him, and people he cares about.
But he, like Batman, is shoving them away to shoulder a burden he thinks is his alone to bear when it’s not.
Strength to overcome darkness comes through love and bonds.
Sasuke doesn’t HAVE to lay himself down because he has people that are willing to reach out to him and pull him up.
Batman doesn’t HAVE to be alone because Superman is there to help him.
Bucky didn’t HAVE to be lost forever because Captain America was there to pull him out of the darkness Hydra had spread in his mind.
Sasuke doesn’t HAVE to lose anything anymore because Naruto—and everyone else who loves him—is there for him.
Like so many characters out there—real or not, Sasuke is fighting a fight he doesn’t have to fight alone.
Now that you mentioned Batsuke, blaze. I'm gonna share something that supports that theory. -Stolen from Tumblr-

I don't know if we can jump to that conclusion but the colours make sense. It could represent his bonds but not necessarily mean he came back to Konoha though it seems he has the konoha protector below the poncho....

yes I know loooooool just speculating. I don't agree with the fact that it means he is back in konoha, it could just represent his bonds. Though I think that poncho is covering something, wether an injury or I dunno

Yeah, maybe he is hiding something. It looks like that he is dressing ANBU clothes under the poncho, so my theory is that he wears that poncho to hide his ANBU vest.
