Naruto and Sasuke don't count. I mean two characters who regularly fought together. Akatsuki pairs, Zabuza and Haku, Ay and Bee, Ginkaku and Kinkaku, etc.

A very strong pair indeed. They're too meatheaded though. And they have a small arsenal between them. That's the reason they paired up in the first place. Because they possess some of the same abilities and attributes. Lightning affinity, speed, high durability, high capacity for nintaijutsu, and whatnot.

Kakashi and Guy greatly complement each other's skillset and personalities, which makes them a very balanced and formidable duo.

Even if I were including Madara and Obito in this, they didn't even fight together, side-by-side. They were standing together, while atop the Juubi. That's it. Before that, they separately fought Bee, Guy, Kakashi, and Naruto.

You're right. The best regular duo is Kakashi and Gai despite the fact that Bee has the most chakra of all the regular duo's out there, he can't utilize full power with Ay because it will jeopardize his life.

Most dangerous duo which happens once in a while but not too often.
1. Obito and Madara
2. Obito and Kakashi
3. Hashirama and Tobirama

Which I can add tobi and pain together but these guys don't fight together and tobi is more of a lone wolf kinda guy.

I don't know how ppl overlook the fact that v2 lightning armor ay can 1 shot kakashi and can easily go toe to toe with gai up to his 7th gate. 8 gates doesn't count because in all honesty he pretty much doesn't need kakashi at that point and it's an automatic death sentence. Kbee in 7 tailed form is virtually immune to any cqc from kakashi and can utilize a bijudama barrage from the fully transformed state has no real counters from kakashi and gai. More panel time does not make you more dangerous.
