Okay, so this is the first time I am attempting a prediction thread so go easy on me if you think I am way off. I would like to ask that you read it all the way through before commenting. I will explain my prediction in a matter-o-fact fashion rather than a recreation of the events because this more about how it will play out and not specific details of fights etc.
This is my prediction for how the rest of the arc will play out:
In the next few chapters we will see Sauske cross paths with the Konohan 11. There will be a brief chat where Sauske says his true intentions of destroying the village and killing Naruto. The 11 will go all out to kill him but fail. This is because Sauske is now at the same level that Madara was at when he took on the first. It will be too much for the 11 and Sauske will subsequently kill them.
After this fight, Kabuto will cross his path. He will inform Sauske on how to gain use of the Rinningan and he will do so because he has the same goals as Orochimaru. To obtain use of all jutsus so he needs a living Uchiha with the eyes of a god ie. rinningan. He will inform him that unlike MS where you need to sever your strongest emotional bonds, you must sever the bonds of your strongest rivalry. This discusion will then be interrupted by Itachi. Itachi will tell Sauske not listen to him and that he is going down the wrong path. Sauske will irrationally explain that he is doing this for him and will refuse to be swayed. Despite Itachi's best efforts to convince Sauske, he decides he will just leave his faith in Naruto. Itachi then switches his focus to Kabuto and uses genjutsu and force him to end *Edo Tensei*. He will do this instead of just killing him because the Jutsu needs to be reversed for it to end. If he just kills Kabuto, Edo Tensei will likely continue. Once ended and itachi gone, Sauske is going to divert his attention to Kabuto. Sauske is going to kill him just like he did Orochimaru to stop him from taking his body.
After this point, Sauske will finally reach the battlefield with Naruto and Tobi. Tobi will be losing the fight at this point and will see this as an opportunity for him to sick Sauske on Naruto and make a window of opportunity to capture Hachibi from Bee. Naruto and Sauske will talk before fighting and Naruto will start by stressing that they will both die if they fight (followed by flashbacks). This will infuriate Sauske and he will respond saying there is no chance of him dying. To make matters worse, he will intentionally make Naruto mad by telling him what he did to his 11 closest friends. From this point it will be an explosive battle from because of the anger they both feel. Eventually, Naruto will realize everything he has fought for and will struggle but defeat the for revenge and continue to try and save Sauske. At this point Naruto will try to use his words once again, to convince him to change. In and insane rage Sauske shouts he will never change and attacks Naruto full force and instead of trying to fight back Naruto will end up taking the hit and go in to hug him instead. Naruto is mortally wounded as he wraps his arms around Sauske. Sauske is then overwhelmed with emotion and is put into a brief state of paralysis. The seal that hold in Kurama will be weakened because all the energy in Naruto's body will be diverted to keeping him alive. Tobi will take this opportunity jump in and capture Kurama. Note: Tobi will have defeated Bee and taken Hachibi while Naruto and Sauske were figthing. After some maniacal laughter, Tobi begins to fuse the beasts into the 10 tails. While he is doing this, Sauske comes out of his paralysis and has a few final words with Naruto as his life slips away. Much like his fight with Itachi, his feeling change through Naruto's final act and few last words he used to save him. His eye now change into the Rinningan. Being overwrought with guilt of killing Naruto and the Konohan 11 his attention now turns to Tobi. He tries to fight him but finds himself very quickly overwhelmed because he now has the 10 tailed beast. Tobi is about to make one final blow to finish Sauske but having seen Sauske's change of heart Kakashi jumps in front for one final act to save him. With his last words he tells Sauske that he needs to protect the last of team 7 and that Sauske has the best chance of saving the world from Tobi's reign. Being badly beat up, Sauske uses the last of his energy to resurrect everyone he recently killed (just like Nagato) since he knows he cannot win and he will now put his trust in Naruto. (kakashi stays dead because the rinningan can only revive who they kill). Gai quickly informs Naruto as to what happened while he was dead and he rushes Tobi ripping his mask from his face. There will be a long story at this point explaining his back story about how he came to be Tobi and have these evil ambitions. Naruto will find out through Tobi's true story that he has nobody in his life for the cycle of revenge to continue and that Tobi will only lose his hatred through death. A final battle with commence between the two both with intent to kill but Naruto will be struck down quickly because of the power of the 10 tails. Tobi will soon realize that the power is too much for him to handle and that it will go berserk. Naruto will use the names that he learned to get through to the 10 tails and stop the rampage. He will enter the mind of the beast and much like the other time when he met his parents he will instead meet the Sage of six paths. The Sage will explain everything to him and grant him with the power to seal the 10 tails within himself. Naruto will make one last attack killing Tobi. (the only person Naruto will ever kill) Then he uses the seal that the So6P granted him the seal the beast within himself.
The war end but Naruto returns to find that Tsunade died fighting the first. He grieves for her, Kakashi and everyone who was lost in the war and then finally, he become Hokage.
Final Thoughts: This should cover the three promises Naruto made. He saved Sauske from his hatered, both of them die if they fight and becomes hokage. This also covers the promise Kishi made that Kakashi will have a very important role to play and allows for Sauske to bring everyone back to life. Also, I did not say who I believe Tobi may be because I don't have any solid logic that points to one person and I don't want this thread to become all about who Tobi is. Lastly, given Kishi is a fan of Dragonball he may end up using the rule that someone can only be resurrected once. If he does, this means Hinata cannot come back to life and it would end the love triangle problem with Sakura, Naruto and Hinata.
Note: I know there are people who will claim I am a fanboy of Sauske saying he can kill the Konohan 11 alone. That is very far from the truth. I hate him more than any other character and I love Shikamaru and Shino. The idea of him killing then pisses me off.
