By the time I reach that twilight age
I would have fallen in love with a whole city
All its denizens on the paved streets
Would follow me with a knowing
All hate, all sorrow vanished
The word absence would have no sense
The beasts of old are still under the Earth
All the creatures that nature deemed not to save
Have sojourned with no regret to wastelands still unfound
Most of our loved- ones, be they waking or sleeping
Are at times in the dust we sweep out on mornings
The trees are always leaving instant mixing
Pour water and we are still here
Reminiscing even what we in desperation hope to forget
The once loved, the once who are loving
The keeping, the abandoning
Finally making sense of it all
