Shukaku was a whole beast
Whereas kurama which was sealed inside naruto was half and the other half is with minato so resealing the other half in naruto would save him.

Not Gaara or Shukaku, It's Yin Kurama which is inside Minato that is going to be sealed inside Naruto to save Naruto. That is the plan at least. Gaara was saying Minato can use the FTG but Kurama said Minato can't use is since there's no mark near them pretty much.

Maybe because only half of Kurama was sealed in him. It can be replaced with a different half of the same tailed beast. Or maybe when a tailed beast is extracted it takes all your ying/yang chakra away or something.

But in Naruto's case the Yang Kurama took all of his Yin chakra when it was extracted and only the Yin Kurama can replenish it.

So what you're saying is Kushina's death makes little sense, then.

Actually - Kurama being a part of Minato's edo doesn't make any sense, either - unless Yin Kurama was sealed in a completely different manner than into Minato's body.

still Kishi left himself room or space to pull explanation here why it couldn't work then... but can work now. These reasons are:

1) Back then Kyuubi was hostile... now Kurama wanted to save Naruto as his friend
2) Back then Kyuubi was 100% full size .... now it was just 50% of Kurama.
3) Back then Kyuubi was ripped out forcefully from Kushina... now it was ripped while Naruto was using Kurama as chakra avatar so maybe it was removed faster.
4) Back then sealing Kyuubi back could not save Kushina as Kyuubi was hostile and would do everything to escape and harm Kishina while now Kurama would do everything to be dragged into Naruto avoiding any harm to his body while healing it right away.

However I agree that removing Kurama from Minato and sealing it in Naruto would be asspull as Edo Tensei could not extract any chakra outside and transfer to someone other.

but wait... we still didn't know how Edo Tensei body containing external source of power in shape of bijuu work even...

I do find it interesting just how relative time and space are in this war, though. Tens of kilometers traversed between pages - distances that would have taken 'several days' of 'intense travel' (remember the mission to save Gaara and how time and distance were all very key factors?). Now we have this epic medivac of Naruto where time is of the essence (but it took them a good half an hour to recover Gaara and try to heal him) to get a few measly kilometers.

I mean... there is always going to be some variability in works of fiction to suit the plot... but it's like any 'quality control' has been thrown out the damned window. Rather than creating suspense through realistic limitations, it's just cheap appeals to power and simplicity.

Madara gets the instant ability to absorb and control the Juubi. There's no ritual. There's no time-to-adjust. It's just bullshit power on top of bullshit time frames.

We know Madara is a bad-ass. We know he's dangerous. Want to build suspense and develop characters? Madara gets the Juubi and flees because he can't absorb everything at one time. Then you have dead/dying Sasuke and a dead/dying Naruto. Maybe have Madara prey upon the weakened and distributed 'key' players on his way out.

This is just going to lead to a Saiyan-exclusive plot-line where everyone else is delightfully irrelevant (it already is, for the most part).

All jinchuriki die from getting their bijuu extracted though.Kushina was a Uzumaki but even she only had a small time to live.I don't see how Naruto could survive the extraction just by having Yin Kurama put inside him when Kushina admitted that would'nt work.
