Speaking of the Naruto vs Pain fight, would it have even been possible for Kurama to have escaped? Theoretically if Minato hadn't taken the precautions, it would still only be 50% Kurama. Then say later Minato gets out of the belly of the reaper and the other half of Kurama breaks free. There are two half-size Kuramas in existence? What?

He probably was angry at his banter about "Pein" because living for a close to a millennium (which is what the timeline hints to) and being abused, mistreated and going through torment, must have been bad for him, and for someone to spout what Nagato said about Pain without going through anywhere near as much as Kurama has over the centuries must have angered him.
