This is possible, but I don't see why Itachi would lie about Madara being his teacher, especially since telling Sasuke that would provoke him to go after Tobi, which Itachi was trying to avoid.

Uhm he told the truth to avoid Tobi manipulating Sasuke, he even set up Sasuke's Sharingan to react to Tobi's Sharingan to booby-trap him with Amaterasu.

If anything Tobi was the biggest liar, he even wanted to replace Sasuke with Madara so that all things go according to plan, so Itachi avoided that.

Only thing Itachi was lying about was Tobi being Madara.
