Hidan stopped being immortal once he was burried alive, since its required to keep making sacrifices, and rituals to keep immortality, plus he could die of starvation, and umm well what else?....meh thats pretty much it, one might think its a plot hole but its not, just misunderstanding of his immortality.

Some people say he csn die due to lack of nutrients, but his religion is more likely the cause.

Hidan has a set of tenants to follow which is basically ritualistic killing. If he doesn't follow the tenants he probably loses his immortality....being in a rubble of s pit and in pieces doesn't help you follow the tenants, and explains his death by loss of immortality :/

That's the only logical reason for him dying.

Hidan likely died after being buried. Since his immortality was never explained, we don't really know for sure, but it is more than likely that he died from starvation or from his immortality fading. Since he wasn't in the manga with the rest of the resurrected Akatsuki members, this also likely means that Hidan is destroyed/sealed sometime in the filler. It sucks that its at the cost of Hidan, but I am hoping that the next few filler episodes reveals more about Edo Tensai and Kabuto's other techniques.

With how careful the anime was in the last episode regarding Kabuto and Edo Tensai, I doubt they would look over the fact that Hidan was immortal. I hope they explain it though. In fact I would like more back story on all of the members of Akatsuki.

I think it was more of a clone of Hidan, not a resurrection of him.

^This

Also from the looks of it,may not be Hidan soul, but just his dna. Seeing how Kabuto states he was doing research on it.

Though seriously, people are complaining a lot for no reason about Naruto.
It's pathetic.

That's what it sounds like to me,as well.

Everyone is mortal, without body you can exist and from hidan probably left just a bones if you call it alive so i dont debate then.
