So, this is my second thread and my first wasn't very detailed (for which I got bashed) so I guess I'll try to make this one more detailed. But the fact that I have nothing but 2 Manga scans for this one because it is actually my Interpretation about the Battles that took place at Valley of the End or Final Valley in the Narutoverse. We know of two such battles,
This is generally supported by the following two scans,
Hashirama Senju vs Madara Uchiha (After Hashirama Stabs Madara and Madara Gives Him A Little Mysterious Talk)
Naruto Uzumaki vs Sasuke Uchiha (After Sasuke & Naruto Clash With Chidori & Rasengan Followed By Naruto's Collapse And Sasuke's Headband Being Slashed)
Theory of the Consensus
My Interpretation(s) & Conclusion
- Hashirama Senju vs Madara Uchiha
- Naruto Uzumaki vs Sasuke Uchiha
Now the question of this Thread is Simple - People have mentioned in countless threads and theories that there was someone standing over the ridge/waterfall/mountain.

Naruto Uzumaki vs Sasuke Uchiha (After Sasuke & Naruto Clash With Chidori & Rasengan Followed By Naruto's Collapse And Sasuke's Headband Being Slashed)

Theory of the Consensus
There was someone standing above which is why Sasuke and Hashirama in their respective scans look up and realise that with a startle - ! mark - The fact that both the winners of their respective battles look up is suspicious and that is what everyone seems to think.
My Interpretation(s) & Conclusion
I have almost 2 interpretations about these events and my interpretations are unlike the consensus.
My Interpretation 1
My Interpretation 1.5 (I said *Almost* 2)
The Conclusion
I hope you liked this read and I hope this was enjoyable. I would really love to hear your views and criticism (if any) so start breaking the keyboard now.
My Interpretation 1
I personally don't think it was anyone who was watching the fight, two ninjas who are fighting relentlessly and are ready to kill each other in a possible deathmatch will tear apart a battle field, as they did but when they jump and hit each other they will surely notice that someone is watching, be it Genin or Hokage level, they will notice.
People claim it was Zetsu, I say maybe but not in both cases. Zetsu was introduced pretty late, even though I know Madara was using Zetsu to gather intel on the leaf that was before Madara had officially passed away, he used Zetsu to gather intel but since after he died Zetsu didn't have anyone to report to (Zetsu dislikes Obito anyway) so Zetsu just spied according to his needs and not for anyone. There is no possible way that Kishi can somehow make a Zetsu hide there somewhere in another (complete) flashback of the two battles, that would be bad writing as the battlefield is shown pretty clearly in the first attempt itself.
UPDATE : Standing corrected thanks to TheRedAndGreenBeast, Zetsu watched Naruto's and Sasuke's fight but still, there is no possible way he would have watched Hashirama and Madara's fight, because Madara activated Rinnegan and Gedo thus Zetsu years after that fight. So, it isn't a recurring character, thus it isn't a big mystery. It is just a similar event.
I think it was just the rain that grabbed the attention of the victor. When it suddenly starts to rain we all look above with an ! on our faces, it is natural that after a big battle and possibly being tired, someone will look up at the rain for it is the sign of a little relief. The fact that it started raining suddenly is basically the reason for the amazement here. Not anything else.
I think the base is overthinking this one. But as I said, that is my Interpretation.

I believe that both fights were parallels and antiparallels together. Now you might call this notion weird but wait for my explanation.
The Parallel - Two Enemies (One Senju & One Uchiha) - Turned Best Friends - Turned Enemies - Fighting in a Possible Deathmatch.
The Antiparallel - Two Enemies (One Senju & One Uchiha) - Fighting in a Possible Deathmatch - In First, the Uchiha Loses - Power Loses & Love Prevails - In Second, the Senju Loses - Power Wins & Love Fails.
I believe that these hold some significant symbolism.
Kishi seems to have done this because of the following reasons if you ask me,
I believe this was done as a simple symbolism - Sometimes Love > Power and Sometimes Power < Love but that happens when both cannot agree that both are needed together, this is nothing but a foreshadowing of another VotE battle which will happen at the end of the series, Naruto vs Sasuke again (as Kishi has confirmed it) but this time the Levels of Power will be Equal as well as the Levels of Care and Good Motives.

The Conclusion
Over the course of Shippuden we have seen two changes in the two protagonists (Yes, Sasuke, in my opinion is equal to Naruto)
Naruto has accepted that to defeat Sasuke he needs to rely on the Nine-Tails as he is the rightful Nine-Tails Jinchuuriki. Therefore, Naruto has Accepted that With Love, he Needs Power.
Sasuke has accepted that he is not an avenger but a change bringer and to defeat Naruto he needs not only Power but also Love and Motivation, which he has got after Itachi's help and The Edo-Kages' story.
So, this is just a hint for a final battle which will be not only at equal Levels of Power but at equal Levels of Love, a new Shinobi System based on Sasuke's Views and Naruto's Principles will emerge.
In other words, the summary of the three battles so far is this,
