An ordinary PS strike is as strong as a normal Bijuu Dama, which can hurt Naruto's Avatar but a blade is more focused than an explosion. They probably won't die with a single strike but they'll die regardless and that's not including Chidori.

Thus Chidori can damage Naruto. Then you throw in the fact that Chidori in it's normal form is more focused than a multi Mountain Range explosion thus a direct hit from a Chidori pierces his Avatar.
