Except that's how Naruto as a character works, by cooperating. This parallel between cooperation and doing anything by yourself has been repeated to death over the course of the story. That's how Ashura got on Indra's level, including Hashirama and Naruto. Both cooperate with external forces (Natural energy and bijuus) while their rivals work by theirselves and forcibly use external forces.
