I don't usually ask others for help regarding computer related problems but there's something that's been bothering me lately; VLC (VideoLAN Client) seems to stretch the image upon entering fullscreen rather than just expanding it like it usually does, ultimately adding very distinguishable pixels. Anyone familiar with this problem? I find it weird because on my college laptop it isn't like that.

My monitor is a Samsung LCD Syncmaster 225BW, and it's 22" big with 1680x1050 max resolution. I'm not familiar with settings and such in VLC, since it has always been perfectly plug and play for me.

It usually means the resolution of the video is not high enough.

Just as an experiment, try downloading

You must be registered for see links

and install it with MPC (also known as Media Player Classic, it is included in the pack). Then download any anime or movie (try 5 centimeters per second, it's highly unlikely that you will like it, but it's the highest quality anime movie out there at the moment) as long as it's .MKV and h264, then play it full screen. If you like what you see, you should continue watching h264 matroska files, I made the switch quite easily too.

hehe have the same monitor and i use VLC...

and if u dont have Full HD movies it will stretch it so it will fit the screen.

u se... ur screen= 1680x1050 and Full HD is 1900by somthing. and it wont stretch beacurse its bigger than ur screen

but if its less than 1680x1050 like the 720p that is 1200by somthing(smaaler than ur screen) it will stretch to fitt...
usualy the movies and stuff u download or eaven DVD dont have those resolution that ur screen recuire to NOT stretch. only HD

its like a pic if you zoom in at it the pixles will get bigger. and u CANT and is say CANT put in more pixles unless ur a pro and it takes much time.
