I just received the official Viz Translation and it states Shisui was a descendant of Kagami, not his son like Manga Panda translated:

I hope this resolves the confusion of how someone as old as Kagami would have fathered someone as young as Shisui. :)

You're arguind semantics. They have different figures of speech. He is almost certainly Shisui's father. Even if we take it as a direct translation, and factor it in the time line, it fits.

People really don't comprehend the subtle differences in language. Not JUST different words, and alpha bits, but different lingos, figures of speech, sayings, etc.

hmmm nice... tho this could still mean that he is his son... descendant doesnt specify how far down the family line it is so for all we know it could still be his son or even his grandson

Don't be impertinent, the official translation said descendant not son. A descendant could be related to Kagami being the grand father, grand uncle, uncle, etc.

Doesn't mean for certain that he isn't his father.

Edit: I mean as in he could still be the father.

I also wondered about that. How can someone who had the age of Tobirama be the father of Itachi's friend?

Highly improbable, if Kagami was Shisui's father then Hiruzen would have specified him to be as such, but he used the generalized term "descendant"
