Hello there, magnificent bastards :hi:

So, dunno if I should call it a theory or whatever, but it's not mine, I saw it on another site, so let me just begin.

- As we all know, the Vinsmoke family traveled from North Blue (Sanji's birthplace) to East Blue (where he grew up). Now it's weird how they managed to do that without any trouble (well, they're dangerous and shit, I know. That's not the point) and both Nami and Brook thought it was strange. So some guy from another site (not an OP forum, but I rather not say the name. Starts with R and rhymes with edit found something interesting.

- Germa 66 (or double 6, sounds cooler) is an army led by the Vinsmokes, and probably a strong one. I think (well, more like agree lol) they are maybe based on Germany (Hitler's time), since their name is "Germa", the beginning of GERMAny.

So what is 66?

Germany had a huge submarine, named U-66, during WWII. Her first use was when Germany started the invasion to France (Sanji is french). After about 10 days she rounded the northern coast of Britain and made her way into the mid-Atlantic ocean. On 28 August, U-66 left Lorient for north-eastern South America. (Wikipedia)

Well, seems like I found some information about North and East

I think the Vinsmoke has a huge submarine (maybe more) and the reason they're considered a myth is because their base is underwater rather than on land.

That's it. Not that important, but meh, everything counts
:hint:

To be honest, I don't think it's a long shot. The Vinsmoke family operating underwater would be pretty cool. Plus Sanji is the strongest swimmer of the Strawhats, so his family operating underwater could be how.

Well it has been emphasized several times that it's difficult to go from one sea to another and that the only way is via Reverse Mountain. The only existing alternative is solely accessible by the government and the marines, which are ships plated with seastone so that they can travel the Calm Belt, however this is still a very recent discovery. Having a submarine really wouldn't make a difference for the seakings if it doesn't have seastone on it. So whether it's a ship or submarine, it would need seastone and considering this technology is pretty new and why would a secret army be named after it?

Yes it's reasonable to assume they have a special way of transportation, but ship or submarine wouldn't make much difference. Another possibility is of course through the air, then you have nothing to fear from the seakings. Skyislands have shown to be able to function like that, but also just before the timeskip Capone's ship had been lifted up into the air towards "something".

And personally for no reason whatsoever I'm thinking the 66 refers to their curly brows :p

Great theory, actually. I wasn't thinking about submarines when I saw the title of this post, but it definitely makes sense. I'm not sure if Sanji's family traveled with him from North to East Blue though, Sanji may have stolen a smaller sub or something and tried running away and then Zeff found him in East Blue. That's just my theory though. I definitely think the Vinsmokes and Germa 66 will be based off European cultures as well, probably France and Germany as you've stated. The thought of an underwater base and giant submarines gets me really hype though! Thanks for sharing.

If you recall rayliegh swam from the calm belt to Amazon Lily. The way he overcame the SEA Seeking was just brute strength. So it's not completely impossible to think that they use a submarine and just fight off the seeking that way

Rayleigh is a single person who is incredibly powerful. Even at his old age he had the ability to deal with Kizaru, a marine admiral and he's a master when it comes down to the understanding and using Haki.

The situation that's described here is vastly different as we're talking about a vehicle that should be moderate to huge in size and contains a decent number of people. And in the case of a submarine, it would most of the time be submerged deeper into the water while Rayleigh was swimming on the surface. Larger objects will also draw in larger sea kings. You can't disclose the possibility that there would be DF users on board. It's one thing protecting your own life, but another when you need to protect an entire crew and vessel from even the slightest of damages.

What about a blimp that would be cool. I think the closest thing we've seen was Enel's airship.

But I don't think Oda will use air travel because that would make navigating the seas a little bit too easy. A zeppelin filled with mobsters and assassins would be awesome though.

The one vinsmoke have seen did what i just described. Jumped out of his submered vessel(the sunny) and then proceeded to protect a crew of df users from the bigger badder deepsea monsters (the kraken) well underneathe the surfaces.

So if rayliegh can do it without a submarine and one vinsmoke can do it without protection i do not see why this theory couldnt work.
