I don't think the government is going to ban VGs with M ratings. It all depends on how we set time and limits to ourselves. I have to be frank, they are not going to treat us like infants by banning VGs. This varies depending on our attitudes and mentality. I for one have Borderlands, MW3, and KZ2. I only set my limits of playing up to an hour; I do not take the games to serious.
We cannot always put blame on the media. We as individuals are the only ones that can control our own behavior; we have to acknowledge that sometimes it's from us. I can see that the media plays a big factor into the situation. But it will have to be us to make our own decisions.
The reason why Adam Lanza and James Holme were what they were was because of their own mindset and behavior. It was said that Adam hated his mother for leaving him for three days. She did this because she wants to show him that she cannot be there for him forever. He let himself be indulged in violence from I'm seeing. He lived in a mansion, with a lot of money. Yet he completely locked himself in the basement with a ton of FPS. :|
James Holme was playing as if he was a comic villain by trying to kill everyone in the Aurora Theater. He had the choice of going into college to get a degree in healthcare. Yet he plunders down to being a atrocious killer.
We have to start from the inside out, IMO. We have our own conscious and lives, we make the decisions that can affect the future. We started talking about this due to the choice others make. U_U
