Cant see...what is the ch. and Page #??
Chapter 42 page 7
Is it ok if we don't play by your made up rules ?
*Vice captain is the strongest after captain.
I don't think that is necessary to be a good first mate.
*FM enforces captain's command
Why ? Is the captain unable to enforce his own command, that's why he is captain right ?
*FM doesn't guide the ship
So the FM has the role of leader, but yet doesn't lead ? Remember when Luffy wanted to go to PH even though Nami advised against it, or multiple other times Luffy's stubbornness lead to a different route ?
Zoro is the same as Luffy, If Luffy would die I agree Zoro would be the best leader for the rest. But until then he would add nothing to Luffy's command. He also isn't a presence on the ship, he always sleeps, drinks and trains. Where Nami brings solid arguments, gives commands and discusses with her captain.
So Nami is in any way a better first mate than Zoro, it's not a position that requires strength.
This is not about who would fit for the Vice Captain/ First Mate/ Second in Command spot because he/she has this or that qualities.
This is a fictional pirate crew and not a real world one.
Luffy is for ****s sake the captain of this crew. You shouldn't think too much about this.
Zoro seems the most likely one because he is Zoro.
The man who is always mistaken for the captain of the crew, is respected by anyone and has leader material.
Not saying it is definetely him though
strength is the first and foremost quality required.
name me one first mate who is not the second strongest in their crew in series?
regarding opposing luffy and commanding, advising it was all because she was scared along with ussop and chopper
but does it change because of her in any way ?no
she is a dominating woman but she is not the vice captain
zoro has more qualities of being the vice captain and he actually is the first mate?
Barto thinks that zoro is the vc. Chapter 723
