Vex's Sound Tournament Official Rules:

  • Terrain: Up to the person who makes the thread, and first move.
  • CJ's allowed
  • Anything can be used, in terms of CJs, CEs, and CFS'.
  • Battles last for 5 turns. If they aren't completed in a timely manner, I'm disqualifying both parties.
  • In the case of a disagreement, settle the argument over VMs. In the case that you can't come to an arrangement, post in the Conflict and Resolution thread that will be made for the tournament. If I don't get to it myself, I'll have someone else judge it in a timely manner.
stands in her designated spot, grinning tauntingly as she gazes at her opponent. With an almost intimidating, yet innocent sounding tone, she speaks, "Are you ready?"

(I'll take the first move, and decide the terrain in my next post, my bad, I honestly couldn't think of anything dynamic enough)

I'll go with a plain grassy field with no water source in sight instead

Guess he doesn't speak, that, or he's just being a douche which isn't exactly uncommon for his kind. Speaking of his heritage, knowing what those red eyes were capable of, Hana leisurely directs her attention to his chin, desiring to prevent any types of eye contact. With aims to control the timeframe of the fight, she makes a single seal, sprouting a puff of smoke beside her and as it subsides, it reveals a perfect replica of her likeness. From the alluring teal eyes, to the long shimmering blond hair, everything was precise. With the doppelganger in place, the real fishman or lady, performs a string of three handseals. Underneath Yosamu's feet would be the brief sloshing of crystal clear water, then Hana's hand would rise up, causing the pool to follow suit. In an eruption of confidence and slight indifference, she uses her arms to manipulate the stream, commanding the fluid to continuously strike him in a zig-zag like pattern, only to surround him completely once he was about a good distance from the ground. Sighing then giving a snap of her fingers, the sphere plummets to the ground, and if he couldn't get out, the pressure and collision would crush him.

The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. Upon impact, the clone can be dispersed.

Description: After performing three hand seals, the user heaves a water current upward, where it erupts from the surface as a towering stream of water, underneath the opponent. The user may only move the water by using hand movements that represent the action the water will make. As the water is rising, through hand movements, the user bends the highest point of the stream to take the form of an orb to entrap the opponent. The user can choose to let the target drown, or swing his hands downward making the stream, come down like a hammer, crushing the target against the surface of the ground/water. In the event that the opponent evades the erupting water, the user may still control the stream to crash down upon any location he desires.

Note: No water source required, the water is created through by the user through this technique

Hana the Clairvoyant, how'd she know Yosamu was an Uchiha if he hasn't even done anything yet?



Taking a brief moment to analyze his foe Yosamu makes sure to keep a still and composed posture. Head under a hood and body concealed by his cloak he did well to remain the enigmatic person he was. But something was off, her eyes seemed to divert from his- as if she knew who he was, or what he was. No matter, he thought, she was probably better off knowing her demise than to be ignorant of it. A copy spawns beside her, no doubt a clone of the sort. He becomes wary of two opponents now.

Suddenly the ground loses its solidity and became as slush, or a mud-like texture signifying an insemination of water. But that was just through analytical skills, his Sharingan was already activated by this time allowing him to judge just how much and what kind of chakra was pooling beneath him. Suiton, and by the looks of it this could be her elemental specialty. He wastes no time in preparing his own chakra and as the water breaks the surface and aims to shoot him skyward he releases a glob of earthen looking material which immediately shapes into a warrior made of earth, complete with hands and a head. The warrior drops onto the geyser-like formation of water and plugs the technique, preventing any more from rising from the ground with its wide and sturdy body.

(Doton: Iwa no Gōremu) – Earth Release: Stone Golem

Description: The user expels a large creature composed of stone from his mouth. The rock golem has a fair amount of stamina and brute strength, being able to bite and tear off flesh with its mouth and hands respectively. If used from above the target then the user can use the earth golem to drop down onto the opponent like a bomb and crush them. The golem can also devour earth structures and other enemy attacks, biting and chewing on it.

Following his brief flight Yosamu simply outstretches his right foot which lands onto the now inert warrior's head ever so gracefully. As he brings his other foot to the structure his cloak, which was riled during the water attack, was open but now coming to a close slowly. But as the cloak falls to his sides again a Genjutsu is casted on both girls without them even realizing it.

"You did well to make precautions..." Yosamu breathed, although not so loud for them to even make sense of what he's saying, given the distance between them.

Suddenly a myriad of Sharingan eyes opened within his cloak, all of them donning his (to be) Mangekyou Sharingan. Their numbers would total to an exact 13. 6 eyes on his right side and 6 eyes on his left, and then finally a single eye opening up under the hood where his face would be. From the twelve eyes at his sides the Mangekyou Sharingans suddenly pulsated once and a black flame envelopes both ladies, tearing away at their sanity and bodies, eating them alive as it burns without end.

"...But my will is absolute." He finishes.

(Yami no shuraudo) Shroud of Darkness

Description: The Shroud of Darkness, one of the fabled artifacts said to pre-date even the likes of Kaguya herself. Used by people who lived in the shadows, it was a stealth tool for sabotage and assassinations. Its clever design would divert light away from its interior, even the brightest of light sources thanks to its ultra black material that absorbed light faster and more efficiently than the 'regular' shades of black. It hides the wearer's face as well as their entire body, giving the appearance of a shapeless being when closed. This can serve to not only mask the the user's weapons and such but it serves to impose a sort of fear on opponents, the unnatural shape of the user's body would evoke a sort of eerie feeling in his foes. The cloak itself is long enough to cover the user from shoulder to foot and the hood section covers his entire head, in the pitch black of night the user is essentially invisible. The cloaks main ability however, is the way it initiates Genjutsu on foes who look directly on its infinite black interior. Said to be the skies of Yomi (Underworld), whoever looks on the inside of the cloak is placed in a subtle Genjutsu (B ranked: 20 cost/40 damage) that allows the user to create anything from his cloak to attack them. This can range from animals, to daggers, to even other people. This is purely a Genjutsu however and serves to distract opponents. As an alternative, the user can have the Genjutsu turn his cloak into a grotesque, squirming mass of blackness with only his head visible, this alternative form of Genjutsu is A ranked (30 cost/60 damage) and serves to instill a fear so deep in his opponent's bones that they're left motionless (paralyzed), the longer they stare at the mass growing bigger and more frightening the more the fear digs deep, if a complete turn passes and the opponent doesn't break free they collapse from mental strain as the grotesque mass consumes all they can see, think, or feel. During both types of Genjutsu the user can only perform Ninjutsu (non elemental) and Taijutsu techniques however.

In reality, as soon as his left foot had made contact with the 'dead' golem, he had thrown 4 explosive kunai at the duo. But as the brief and effective Genjutsu took a hold of their minds he forms five hand seals, multiplying the kunai to the thousands. They would appear like a silver and white wave as their sheer numbers closed the distance immediately. The burning and pain of the kunai exploding around and on them would fall in tandem with the 'fake' Amaterasu from the illusion which sells both techniques perfectly. Surely death would follow in a timely fashion.

(Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) - Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu

Description: After throwing one shuriken or more against their target, the user creates up to a thousand shadow clones of the shuriken (or kunai, senbon, etc, basically any basic weapon) after performing Ram → Rat → Bird → Boar → Tiger which multiply the damage as its striking down the enemy. This is a technique that combines ninja tools with ninjutsu. Compared to normal shadow clones, clones of material objects are said to be on a far higher level. There is no need for preparations beforehand, like stocking up on shuriken, yet since the shadow clones are real and not illusions, all the shadow blades that fly around are equally lethal. This is valid for any weapon copied and it has been seen that the copied weapons will also have the tags or markings of the original, like sealing or explosive tags or sealing marks.

I mean, after years of alignment and being in the same village, knowing who Yosamu is, and that he has the Sharingan isn't completely far-fetched, don't reach.

The rocky structure blocked the water before it could do any real damage, but it served it's purpose, Yosamu had played directly into her hands. The clone who we'll call Anna for now, focuses her wind natured chakra as the boy continuously ascends. The chakra manifests itself into a cloaked assassin composed of nothing but wind, with long thick blades jutting out of his forearm. With him ascending, the assassin is directed to go downward, because of both entities going into relatively the opposite direction, the amount of time it would take for them both to reach each other was extremely short. In that same timeframe, for extra measure the real Hana thrusts her right palm forward, manipulating the water molecules themselves to lunge towards his stomach. Should all come to fruiton, he'll be impaled by the assassin, and if that fails, the shockwave would catch him while he's momentarily vulnerable. Who knows, maybe even both.

(Fuuton: Chouyaku no Shinpou) – Wind Release: Leap of Faith

Description: The user will channel their fuuton chakra into the surrounding air in order to create a number of traditional assassins composed entirely of tangible wind with a slight greenish hue. These assassins possess the natural capability of flight due to their weightlessness and are all fully equipped with twin hidden blades jutting out of their forearms. On creation, the assassins typically descend on their targets from above and stealthily dispatch them through the use of their bladed weapons by targeting vital locations on their victim's body. They don't necessarily have to land on top of their targets but can simply be created so they will land near/next to them. These assassins, regardless of the number, will always have to be created a minimum of five meters away from living beings (excluding the user and sentient creations such as the Stone Golems) and must always be created above their targets. The number of created assassins will always equal or exceed the number of designated targets (e.g. if a technique creates a fifty soldiers made of earth, at least fifty assassins of wind will be created). The maximum possible number of assassins that can be created through a single usage of this technique is a hundred and so if more than that number of targets exist, then this maximum of one hundred soldiers will be created. The power of this technique is equally divided between the number of assassins created.

Description: The user will thrust one palm forward, aiming at a desired body part belonging to the enemy, causing him to be blown back by using the water molecules in the air to release a shock wave. Due to the water molecules being very little in size, only doujutsu is capable of actually seeing the shock wave being created. A regular ninja will think its a simple palm thrust. Once the shock wave connects, it will be difficult for the enemy to breathe normally for one turn, due to the impact. This palm trust is powerful enough propel large summon up to long range

Unbeknownst to even him, he had begun to ascend. Not that he was panicking or anything, instead he utilized his Kekkei Genkai and analyzed both girls' chakra flows. One was molding Fūton while the other was molding Suiton. His eyebrows crumpled as he began to imagine the possibilities of a simultaneous attack with one so skilled in Suiton alone. He then began molding his primary specialty as well.

Following both their chakra flows, Yosamu acted immediately upon seeing their chakras molded so perfectly and expelled from their bodies- signifying they had begun their respective techniques individually. Surely enough his deductions were true, he catches sight of tiny water spectacles in the air undulating towards him in a uniformed motion. This was all the heads up he needed considering the second girl would have already launched her attack. He channels Fūton chakra into the air around him to form pockets of pressurized air which would then 'pop' sending all the built up air beneath his feet, in rapid fashion considering his specialty. This puff of pressurized wind provides him with more than enough propulsion to allow him to literally step on the air as if it were solid ground. As he continuously steps on the air he jukes to the left (your right) with great speed to avoid the water molecule technique (and the falling assassin, unknown to him of course) at the same time while retrieving two smoke pellets and two kunai in each hand respectively. He tosses the smoke pellets which explode in a plume of thick black smoke while simultaneously throwing the two kunai at the duo. But before the smoke, while his Fūton chakra was still fresh in his tenketsu, he makes sure to mark their positions and relative distance from him.

(Fuuton: Tobideru no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Popping Technique

Description: The user focuses wind chakra at certain points in range, manifesting small balls of pressurized air (max 6) which immediately burst and push away objects near them but have no effect more than 2 ft away. They may be created all at once or in sequence and each one is capable of knocking over an adult. While this technique won't deal much damage to enemies, it is a good surprise attack and could leave them open for additional attacks. If the user creates a ball beneath himself he may evade attacks by launching himself upwards and can do the same for allies. Defensively, this technique could deflect weapon strikes and projectiles with enough precision to even launch objects like shuriken back at the enemy.

Following this mid air blur of movement, as he's sliding to the left far out of range of both techniques under the cover of the smoke, he had already began molding an insane amount of Fūton chakra within himself. This all happens in a blink of an eye as he's still 'juking' to the left using the left over momentum of the popping technique. Following this, his Fūton chakra had already spread through the entire battlefield. His chakra comes to form a green, exquisitely decorated portal (which is also hidden by the smoke) at the edge of short ranged before him which one if the two hidden kunai would pass through harmlessly, staying on their course to the two. Immediately following this motion (the kunai passing through the portal), a plethora of identical portals spawned and alligned in a concave formation behind the two out of nowhere. The concave formation would bend around their (estimated) location as if hugging them from the sides as well as from behind (huehue). Following the distraction of the smoke and the silent activation of the portals, traditional methods of detection would prove futile. Each gate would then fire a replica of the kunai while closing and reopening at the speed of a blinking eye with sheer speed and numbers that, individually, the replicas would appear as green streaks of light. By the time they catch sight of the kunai exiting the thick smoke it would have well been too late.

(Futon: Iongeto Reishiki)- Wind Release: Aeon Gate Type 0

Description: After successfully devising the parent technique, Yosamu pushed himself yet again, to break all the boundaries that obscured his initial success and developed a successor technique that far surpassed the first. He named it, Type 0, because it was the final form of the ingenious jutsu, set to annihilate the greatest of foes. This move, required immense amounts of chakra from the user being converted to Futon at a near instananeous pace. The user will gather this great amount of energy within himself and hold both his hands outwards, as if getting ready to hug something but as he does this he/she's actually releasing all this stored chakra across the battlefield in an omnidirectional manner starting from short ranged reaching up to long ranged, a gate will open up short ranged from the user as this happens. Then, the user will run a physical non-chakra coated object through this initial gate, just like the parent technique. But, instead of just one portal opening 5 meters from the target multiple gates will open, amounting to the hundreds, each with elaborate patterns on their 2D shape. The object that the user had placed through the first gate would get replicated by this multitude of gates and will be multiplied accordingly. Meaning, if the user had thrown a kunai through the first gate, the gates that follow would each release a single Futon replica of this said kunai which would in turn fire hundreds of replicas at the target all collectively amounting to Forbidden rank. But it doesn't end there, the gates will close as usual after releasing this replica, but will continue to repoen to fire more replicas of the said object, they will continue to reproduce these replicas at a rapid pace with the Futon projectiles appearing as green streaks of light. The gates open and close at the speed of a blinking eye, releasing only replica at a time, but in the company of the many other gates these replicas appear infinite. The gates will continue to rain down the projectiles on the enemy for two whole turns and their arrangement can be set in any order by the user. Meaning, he can choose to arrange the firing gates in a wall formation, a dome formation, a concave/convex formation anywhere as long as it stays 5 meters from the opponent. With chakra guidance and control the user can even open the firing gates in his vicinity as well, having the projectiles rain around him without as much as touching a hair on his head. Throughout the technique however, he must stay focused and can't mold any other forms of chakra until the technique ends or is destroyed. After this technique ends, the user is left much fatigued, as that much chakra takes a strain on his reservoir and physical well being. His speed will fall by two ranks and the user will have sore painful limbs for two turns after using this technique.

This was a pretty even fight, very well matched. I can't see any glaring errors on either side, except maybe Joker's possible metagame. However, the usage of the exploding water palm was a strange one imo. It would have been better to use an earth jutsu like the rising earth pillars to make dodging impossible, so that your opponent would have to destroy them. By destroying the jutsu beneath him, Zaph wouldn't have any reason to look upwards, or to suspect an airborne attack. All in all, I think that Zaph was the more offensive fighter, so I have to award him the win.
