Alright, so kenjutsu literally means Sword Techniques. This basically entails and encompasses swords used by samurai and shinboi alike that can be used in combination with a number of other ninja arts that range from tai, nin, fuuin, and what not. Apparently it can be even used with genjutsu which is quite interesting o-o *cough**cough*Hey-o!
Now, can you tell me everything you know about kenjutsu, chakra flow, and close quarters combat in general?
No questions at all Vexeh c:Alright.
Kenjutsu is as you said, the way of the sword which emphasizes using a sword as an extension of your body. Kenjutsu itself falls under the broad and general way of Bukijutsu, or weapon techniques. Kenjutsu is used by both samurai, as well as shinobi, although samurai use it more, and it is the basis of their fighting style. You use a sword, as a medium for techniques meant to cut the opponent, or do damage that involves slashing. Most people choose a two handed approach to using a katana, due to the fact that they can get a lot more speed and power out of their attacks, since they are using two hands. Others choose to dual wield katana, or even triple wield (shoutout to Caliburn) their katana. Some people on the other hand, use sword techniques with a single hand to attack the opponent, while using their other hand to launch other attacks. It really depends on your own preference.
Chakra Flow, is the process of using elemental and regular chakra to increase the potency and potential of a blade or other weapon. For example, Kirabi coated a pencil with lightning chakra, and it would have potentially killed Kisame, if he hadn't avoided it. Effects of chakra flow vary from element to element. For example wind and lightning increase cutting power, while fire causes burning damage, and can cauterize wounds. Chakra flow is used extensively in kenjutsu, in order to increase the speed, power, and cutting potential of your blade, and making it more lethal.
Close Quarters combat, is not necessarily limited to close range techniques, or to taijutsu, and kenjutsu. You could use elemental jutsu in short range, although you might injure yourself. Close Quarters combat tends to have a high risk, high reward, type atmosphere. In a lot of cases, you can end a battle with a single blow, especially if using a weapon. Although, the reverse is also true for the opponent. It really depends on your own preferences, some people gain a large arsenal of close range weapons, CFS, and jutsu, and fight exclusively in close range. Now, a lot of jutsu in the taijutsu and kenjutsu list can be done with freeform, that is not using a jutsu and describing what you do in words of your own, so if you don't want to waste a jutsu slot, it might be a good ide a to use them instead of an actual technique. In addition, you can dodge a lot of kenjutsu/taijutsu freeform without using a jutsu, but not all.
Any questions?
To begin I would slash at my target striking in a diagonal upper left to lower right slash followed by striking at the target with a horizontal left to right slash. Then as the blood spatters I continue with another right to left upper diagonal slash creating an X shape on the targets chest with the horizontal slash going through the intersection of the X. Then making a fluid slice downward from his head to crotch when finally I prepare to complete it by taking a two-handed grip on my sword preparing for that final slash. As the target falls back I make a final two handed slash horizontally at the targets waist effectively cutting their stomach open in the most gruesome of ways.(Ken Rendan no Jutsu) - Sword Barrage Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: With this technique, the user will make a sequence of slashes with their sword and finishes with a powerful final slash dealing liberal damage to their enemy.
Alright with this you use either one, or both hands (it doesent specify), to make a combination of slashes, which ends with a gigantic powerful super slash that can kill the opponent. Now make sure to describe at least 6 types of slashes in detail, as well as how they are performed. In addition, tell me how you would counter and defend against each individual type of slash.
I lunge forward at the opponent maintaining a high stance and land a barrage of punches striking their upper chest and jaw with my left and right hand respectively. While stunned and falling backward I draw my sword from under my cloak taking it in both hands slashing downward in a diagonal right to left motion and then following up with a horizontal slash to their gut.(Ikari Nomikomu no Jutsu) - Fury Swallow Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: The user punches the opponent a few times and finishes them with two final slashes with their blade or sword.
Now remember what I was talking about with using your sword one handed? This jutsu allows you to attack with both hands. You attack with one hand, using a few punches. You then attack them while they're dazed from the punches, and slash them with your sword. Perform it, and give me a counter to this technique.
Extremely vague z.z. But that makes it all the better in some cases. Anyways so it sounds like to me you have to be in mid-air to use this. What I mean is that you can't use this to dodge techniques as well if that makes sense. Now you drill this down into your opponent so that'd be pretty fatal but it really depends on when you strike them. If you hit their head its fatal instantly. If you hit their shoulder it'll take a little bit due to blood loss. They also can't use their arm. So I mean it really depends on how you use this. That is why the vagueness is so nice.( Rakkasui ) - Falling Water
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 25
Description: The user will drop down upon the opponent from mid air pointing their sword downwards and drilling it down into the opponent.
Ok, so this jutsu is a bit vague. But simply jump up and, holding your sword with one or both hands, start to spin while in mid air, and drill the blade into your opponent. Now perform and tell me what you would do if someone did this jutsu on you, how would you take advantage?
In a burst of sudden speed I leap in front of your shadow clone with my sword in reverse grip. Swiftly I strike the clone with the hilt of the sword following up with a series of kicks aimed at the stomach and chest of the clone throwing the clone into the air. As the clone is launched into the air I take careful note of his trajectory locating where he will land. As he falls I rush toward that location and just in the moment before he lands I strike the clone with a punch to the chest launching him toward the tree you directed me toward. Then, with my sword still in reverse grip, I launch a red chakra wave toward him with a fluid swing of the blade. It rushes toward the clone and slices him in half.(Bakuchi Tori Kuzu Oujou) – Gambling Bird Arrowroot Death
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user bolts in front of the enemy who they then strike with their sword handle before delivering several kicks that sends the enemy into the air. The user then bolts across to the far off location of the enemy who they then punch violently into an obstacle.
(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Ok dash in front of my clone, and hit him with the hilt of your sword. After doing that, while he's dazed, launch a series of rapid kicks which launch him into the air. Then, run to the place he will appear, and punch him into that tree. As he does, swing your sword and launch a red crescent shaped wave of chakra to finish him off. Now how would this jutsu interact with a B rank blast of wind?Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does a simple cresent-shaped slash at the opponent, expelling a red chakra wave.
Pretty straight forward first technique and yeah its cool and useful. I suppose what is one downside is the chirping and radiation of the blade. Makes stealth and surprise attacks with this a little difficult but oh well. As you said, self explanatory in its applications.Well the Kenjutsu strike would be weak to elemental ninjutsu, so the B rank wind jutsu would just go through it, slightly weakened.
(Kusanagi no Tsurugi: Chidorigatana) - Grass Cutter Sword: One Thousand Birds Katana
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user flows Chidori current through a katana in manner similar to flying swallow technique. The Radiating and chirping blade can easily cut through steel. Furthermore, the body of the person cut by the sword goes numb, taking away their freedom of movement.
Concentrate raiton chakra into your sword, using the principles of chakra flow. Flow the chakra through the sword, and increase its offensive capabilities to the point that it can cut through steal. If you manage to cut your opponent while your sword is clad in a chidori, then you will numb and paralyze the part of the body you cut so that the opponent can't move. Pretty self explanatory and simple, but a really cool jutsu nonetheless!
(Chakura Bōsekiken) - Chakra Spinning Blade
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will channel chakra into their sword making it glow blue and then jumping into the air they spin at a rapid rate creating a spinning circle and cutting through the enemy target.
Concentrate chakra into your sword so that it glows blue, and jump into the air above your opponent. Begin to spin at such a rapid rate, that you create what appears to be a pale blue circle above your opponent, then allow gravity to pull you back down to earth as you cut through the opponent. Give me two disadvantages to this jutsu.
This is definitely a nice useful technique when engaged in CQC. Most people who are uncomfortable with CQC will simply just use Nagashi to paralyze you when you come to engage in short-range which is a dirty and common place move. So having a number of counters to that common defensive manuever is extremely useful when you go in for CQC. But yeah, as you said this only works on unfocused lightning techniques so anything that possesses controlled form such as sharp spear, lightning needles, or any concentrated blasts of lightning won't work. Only currents. So it has its situational uses. But those uses are pretty good nonetheless.Nice job o-o.
( Kenjutsu: Hirashin ) - Sword Technique: Lightning Rod
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user by use of a sword can use it as a rod to attract lightning currents that are channeled into the user from opponents attacks and by pointing the tip of the blade into the ground the user is then able to dispel the lightning charge nullifing the effects of paralysis. However this only works on free flowing lightning based techniques such as the Chidori current and not on focused lightning based techniques
Ok, now with this jutsu you can use you can counter unfocused lightning of A rank and below using just your sword. Focus chakra into the blade, and stab it into the ground as a make-shift lightning rod. Just remember that this only works on unfocused lightning like Nagashi..it won't work on something like chidori sharp spear or the chidori needles.
