I don't think it was ever stated that Itachi knows that Madara has been resurrected. He is trying to stop them all at once by defeating Kabuto.

I may be wrong, but i dont think Itachi knows that madara is one of the edos, he is just trying to stop it altogether

I think Itachi knew about Madara. He is just smart enough to go and face the trigger of the jutsu and end all edos, not just one. Furthermore, I don't think he could seal Madara so easily like he did with a weakened Oro who didn't have sharingan and was no match. He knew it'd be a pointless fight as both of them are immortal and who knows what new tech could Madara be hiding for against Uchihas.
