I play both and yes Microsoft does shut live down sometimes as well. no this isn't a hacking problem since a hacking problem wouldn't be planned by Sony. This is a patch so sharing is set to two ps3s and two psps to prevent people to take advantage of it so much. Some games will still work online. data should be fine it's just a suggestion to back-up your saves.
