[Discussion] Very disappointed with Oda for the first time in my life U_U

Sabo vs Fujitora, this was one of the greatest if not THE greatest match ups that we've ever seen in OP and potentially could've been the best fight we've seen so far yet Oda just skipped it!

And don't even get me started with DD's flashback U_U

Maybe its just me. I've always had very high expectations when it comes to Oda and he's never disappointed me before. Maybe my expectations were too high this time.

And those who are about to defend Oda for skipping Sabo vs Fujitora, you guys do realise that we might not get a fight this great for a loooong time right? im talking years. Maybe a year, maybe two. But shit like this doesn't happen too often U_U.

As a chapter, it was again a great chapter but the way Oda crushed my expectations were simply too brutal for me U_U

No one deserved to win that fight(Sabo vs Fujitora). All they wanted to do was stall in meantime of the real fights. That fight was so pointless that i'm actually glad he stopped it. The most important part was already showed. A Fujitora not going all out is slightly stronger than Sabo

It's partly due to high expectations but I know where you're coming. But that fight was skipped due to plot progression and for us to really understand Isshou's view about the matters in Dressrosa. With placing his bet on Luffy himself, why fight Sabo who was fighting strictly for Luffy's sake? It's counterintuitive.

As for Doffy's past, Oda has been stringing (no pun intended) us along, piece by piece. He's finally started to wrap up the whole thing. We were alluded to his parents before a couple of times and now we know it all. I also like that he didn't take up half a chapter with the flashback too so I think he's still doing well. That, and there's still pieces of the Corozan situation we don't know of that may or may not be revealed. So there's still time for Doffy's past to meet your expectations.

the anime is ruining oda's work i mean they can a least wait 1 year so that it will not catch up with the manga but no. i only see if it has good animation.I honestly don't know what happend with toei animation pfff

Almost everyone said that it was too early for a fight between an admiral and the second in command of the revs, many, many times, almost no one expected the fight to finish

you do understand that the fight was purely for two reasons:

1. Sabo wanted to give Luffy time to get to Doffy

2. Fuji needed an excuse as to why he didn't stop the Straw Hats


Both of whom shared the ideal goal of saving the kingdom and not harming citizens

two potentially admiral level fighters would never go all out, and the comments back and forth about ''i must get you serious'' etc etc were obvious they were playing the same game


i think Oda not showing their half assed fight [i use the term to refer to them both just playing around] is great and adds more to them as characters

Theres a difference between not finishing a fight and skipping a fight. If Oda plans on contining things like this then he might aswell make the chapter called "I am going to skip this fight" So that people wont get disappointed.

I agree I'm tired of this shit...loll Dressrosa has been nothing but half asssed fights but finally we get something with potential and it has an unrewarding end. I knew this fight wasn't going to finish but I would have atleast like to see a hint of the fullpower of each of these guys...not just 3 pages and thats it

Even Doffy's backstory was built up and it was complete shit..Oda built it up like Doffy had some complexity but he is no different from any other spoiled CD....very shitty backstory.

When its all said and done Dresssrosa had a shit ton of potential but it has failed..not even a top 5 arc for me...long and boring with alot of filler chapters and half assed fights and teasing

i don't think the author would reveal the 2 new main players' best moves.

and i don't think he would show the winner either....it would ruin either characters' hype early.

seemed like to me you just want to see a fight no matter what even if it does not make sense.

I don't really see much of a problem with it. We've seen admirals fight already and we're getting Doffy's fight so idk what you're on about when you say we won't get a big fight for a looooong time, Kaido is about to pop up too so fights are gonna happen. Also maybe the reason Oda off paneled the fight is because there's only so much to do with gravity powers, honestly it would have been a boring fight imo, yea I wanted to see Sabo but Fuji seems like he'll have a pretty boring fighting style/power.
