If you watched the movie like you said you did. You would know they fought Bills for different reasons.
-Goku fought for fun, zero emotions were involved except happiness
-Vegeta just saw his wife get backhanded. He is pissed he is going to fight till he draws his last breathe.

-Put Goku in Vegeta's position he would have done way better than Vegeta.

I doubted , they are in different Universes & this movie pretty much shows that they need saiyans & saiyan powers .....this time is not all about Goku , i'm willing to bet my nutsack that even Future Trunks universe will be involve .
