Well, I've been thinking about Vegapunk lately... We really don't know that much about him, most of his details have been shrouded in mystery. Though what we do know about him is that he's the Navy's leading scientist and his knowledge is considered to be 500 years ahead of his time. Anyone who knows a bit of history of the arts should know we can compare this to a single man. That man's name is none other than Leonardo da Vinci.

Leonardo da Vinci was born In Florence, Italy, but he died in Amboise, France. Oda seems to be quite the history student, I have a feeling that his area of destination will be based off France and I think he will make an appearance soon. I am positive that our next location will not be Italy's Renaissance period. That's because we've already seen an island like that and that was where Franky spent his two years training and upgrading. The location Franky was at was known as: The Future Country Barujimoa on Karakuri Island.

(A little fact for literacy fans, the mountain seen the the picture above resembles the creature from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The bolts are reminiscent of Dr.Frankenstein's creature.)
Now I believe that Vegapunk will appear at a France-esque location, somewhere that will have qualities that we can link to France. I've also come to believe that he is in quite a high position. I believe even close to the Gorosei or Celestial Dragons (Well actually, he's probably repulsed by the World nobles unjust ways of treating common folk.) Now, most of my hypothesises are completely based off real world history. While of course he is a leading scientist, I think he rather does these inventions for the benefit of mankind and to satisfy his own curiosity and is not solely just the World Government's puppet.

Now, what can this tell us about Vegapunk? Well we know that Vegapunk is a genius. He is curious about all the wonders of the world (Devil fruits, dragons, etc) and wants to research them to their core. Vegapunk doesn't want to create weapons of mass destruction or death, unlike his former college Caeser Clown whose goal was a juxtaposition of Vegapunk's goals and that was to create a weapon of mass destruction, which we know as Shinokuni. We can also see that Vegapunk is a honourable man who keeps his word: (Bartholomew Kuma's last wish of protecting the Strawhat's ship for 2 years before he 'died') I've also seen a lot of theories that ask what Vegapunk's power/ability is. To be honest, and not because he's old, I don't think Vegapunk has any offensive capabilities, rather he has strong formidable guards to protect him from danger (E.g Sentomaru).

We also know that Vegapunk is a generous man! He cares about the well being of people and this emphasises a point that he is a good man. (A kind old geezer hehahaha)
Personally, I am really excited to see how Oda portrays Vegapunk and what characteristics and skills he gives him as Leonardo da Vinci is one of my all time favourite artists and inspirations. I hope this was at least an enjoyable read haha, it wasn't much of a theory, but more my opinions. Hope you enjoyed!
