1. Before this happened, did Gai actually not remember Kisame from previous fights or was he was just being ignorant?
2. Also, in your opinion, do you think his dub voice is as good or greater than his Japanese voice? Please explain without the usual "the Japanese is better, so the dubs suck" response.

I think because his Gai embraces the power of youth and because Skip is 6+ years younger than Masashi, I lean more towards the dub version because he sounds (and is) younger.

3. If Kisame didn't do suicide, who do you think would have won?

I would think that Obito should be somewhat worried about Gai because he was able to fight a jinchuuriki-level ninja.

1. he didn't remember..

2. dubbing is raping.. It's already of big concern that you're even watching dubbed episodes.. hearing that ****ed up american voices say nawrutow or saskay sickens me and everything is totally different it doesn't have the same load, content- and emotional-wise.

3. kisame killed himself because he was defeated, he didn't do it for fun.

1.He forgot which is why obito told him why should i tell you,you would just forget.

2.I like both and they sound very similar if you ask me.They did a great job finding a voice for his personality

3.? ....That fight already concluded so i don't see how your asking this.

Kisame fought him over the ocean on his home turf (He wasn't weak because he had plenty of time to recover and he absorbed a great dela of chakra from two jonin and Killer Bee before he escaped.

He was only alive because gai had to bring him back.

Gai vs kisame is a bad match up no matter how you look at it.

1. Gai doesn't have good memory. He was serious about it until the end.

2. The Japanese version is better, but not because the Dub sucks. It is better because the English dub isn't able to fully capture the emotion expressed by the Japanese dubs. Well, that, and the fact that Naruto is full of asian culture, asian jokes, and so on... things that until now are not fit to be told by foreign languages without sounding weird.

3. Kisame, for one reason... Gai was using double-edge techniques and he was about to reach his limits.

Gui is like a Beast He knows you not people from faces but by smell, fell and touch and sines that Guy was an imitation of the original it did not register to Him as the original. Thats why He keep thinking He was familiar but could not place the Guy.

agree, dubbed shows are for retrograd nationalists living in the 19th century under a rock.

-Yes, people around the world do speak lots of different languages-

ok the first time he saw kisame in part 2.

He was the only right about not knowing who this kisame was because at the end of the day that kisame at the start of part 2 was just a clone. Gai knew from fighting hand to hand with this clone he never actually fough this guy before even though he looks like kisame.

This is a rare skill with martial artist that can identy you from fighting hand to hand.

the 2nd time he meet him in the island I cant tell whether he was confused from just the waterfall of truth or because kisame combined himself with the sword. either case one can understand why didn't know who that was immediately but he did after a few seconds.

that's all I wanted to say about this thing with kisame.

A lot of ppl say gai is dumb but hes not hes actually quite smart uses his skills to the limit that can make other shinobi look silly.

I used to watch dub for a while and I always thought it was fine. Then when I tried sub, I was awakened. I could now feel their emotions through their speech and when they made jokes, they now made sense for me. Since then, even in games, I have prefered using sub and not dub. I am not saying American voices suck because the actors are really good but when you compare them you have to agree that sub is better. Besides we like to escape from reality and hearing japanese makes us feel different and a part of the narutoverse.

I did an experiment once with the jiraiya death scenes. I watched both and honestly the japanese version felt more real and captivating whereas the american one felt annoying. Sorry to say but like they mentioned before, it is difficult to translate things from one language to another. Somethings get lost or misinterpreted.
