Vanitas is a 6 "4" tall African American male with a slender posture and spiky black hair. Vanitas wears a black and red organic-looking bodysuit. He wears a black helmet covered with dark heavily reinforced glass, hiding his face from view. He possesses golden-yellow eyes, jet-black hair, paler skin and a muscular build. He also stands at 6 "3". Vanitas's appearance often gains him attention whenever he is traveling in public. He was bullied as a child because of his eye colour, the children for whatever reason saw it as being "feminine". He was also very short at a young age with a body a lot scrawnier than those around him. That is why he now where's the body suit. He bulked up after running away and spending years training and now believes that only those he deems fit shall see his true body.
Personality
A man shrouded by mystery and characterized by his melancholic and incredibly apathetic behaviour and outlook on life, Vanitas is the epitome of darkness and destruction in terms of his methods. when juxtaposed between the world and himself, it is clear that they are in no way alike, this is the reason as to why many of his own companions are reluctant to trust him. However, despite his sadistic and nefarious personality, he is quite the calm and collected mind and is rarely aggravated. He has the uncanny, unique and rare ability to unleash a large amount of adrenaline and or anger whilst still maintaining his composure, allowing for the benefits without the loss of one's train of thought or will in some cases. He is also quite the analytically person, this especially shows in battle where he has been popularised by his strategic ability and level head, this is also the reason as to why his is often the leader on missions and scouting tasks. Although calm and collected, his nefarious side brings out a rather dark trait about him. His easiness with an incredible amount of blood gore and quick assimilation into situations involving these two things. Unlike most human beings, he does not get queasy or turn away, he's a sadist at heart and loves these things, instilling them himself on some occasions, that is why some have even started believing the rumor that he himself is not human. Those below him see him as a demon, a fearsome leader with dark traits that lead one to question is allegiance. Surprisingly, the most interesting thing about him is that he also has an incredible sense of humour.

History:
Born just outside the country of Stone in a small village renowned for their swordsman and incredible ability, Vanitas grew up in an environment rich with variety and full of many opportunities to become a swordsman. It was not like the case with children in far off lands that did not have the resources, there were about 5 master swordsman teaching classes in the area he lived, men from the Ninja Wars wanting to find peace. His father was a famous and successful Merchant that, with his position, brought incredible amounts of wealth into the family, ensuring that he always had what he wanted and was an incredibly well off boy compared to others around the world. Despite appearing normal, his family was peculiar in the way that, his mother was the Swordsman, a warrior in a very provincial Village where women were and still are marginalised and given roles, which, being a swordsman and seeing combat, was not one of them. It was seen as Taboo and as such, his father, being the cold man that he was, had warned her that she would be kicked out of the family if she did not stop her ways. His father was the type of man that placed great value in business and little in family, he was straight forward, cold and definitely not one that should of been a father. He often shut Vanitas up whenever he was a boy and would start ranting about how he wanted to go on adventures, explore and see battle. The shutdown would be followed by over an hours worth of de-motivational talking about how Vanitas would never amount to anything unless he continued on the family business. He had a sister that he would often watch get beaten profusely because she aspired to be like his mother. At the tender age of 6 his mother had helped him run away and snuck him onto a ship leaving to explore the world, this was after his sister who was older had been sent to a special "school", which he later discovered was really a place of sorrow to be spat on as a slave because the family was losing money. Upon that Pirate ship Vanitas lived with ten cruel men unbeknownst to his mother, they treated him like dirt, introduced him to violence and brought his character down every single day. In fact, the only good things Vanitas had gotten from those men were his Ninjutsu and swordsmanship skills as every man on the ship needed to be able to help one another, and survival instincts. At the age of 18 their ship was attacked by Kumogakure ninjas, the warriors were killed and Vanitas was spared despite the fact that he had killed many himself, a higher ranking Jounin had seen deep within Vanitas and knew that his actions were because of the way his life had played out. He was taken in and spent the rest of his life up until current events within Kumogakure, exploring, making a name for himself and moving on. Busy exploring the world for any enemies to his Country or disruptions, he had decided to go on a peaceful and elongated vacation to clear the multiple thoughts on his mind.

Vanitas wields the Ultima, a uniquely forged longsword wrapped in an ornate gold filigree in a pattern slightly reminiscent of fish bones. The key-chain token, attached to the blade by shimmering thread, is a gilded heart, used throughout his life to refer to a complete being, instead of a Heartless or Nobody. It also bears one heart just above the guard and another just next to the crown making up the teeth of the blade. The blade's size is smaller compared to the hilt. Vanitas first acquired it on one of his many journeys, a year after running away from home. He had been stopped in a corner with no bystanders, by a group of thugs. Thankfully, his life had been saved by Xiang Sin, a master swordsman and kind hearted old man. Xiang had taught Vanitas the basics of blacksmithing. One night whilst resting in Xiang's hut, Vanitas had witnessed a meteor falling from the sky. The following morning he had taken chunks out of the meteor and used them to forge Ultima. He had named it Serpent tail because at the time, Vanitas had just started to carve out his destiny and make a name for himself, slowly, like a snake moving through dirt. Xiang had taught him to treat swords as people, so Vanitas has a close relationship with his blade and can sometimes be seen speaking to it.
A heirloom of his family, it is a Green ring made of durable and reinforced metal that stands for perseverance and signifies their strength and ability to go on during hard times. It was given to him by his mother to remind him of his humanity and where he came from.
