I am German as well and I agree with Vince. Kubo probably decided to just smash it all together, so it probably does mean The Kingdom / Empire.

I just hope Kubo doesn't **** this up.

Maybe Kubo took inspiration from WW2 and Nazis, but only that they wanted to establish new Empire of pure beings...that would explain Ice Castle as ice is frozen pure water...or maybe not :D

Why exactly WW2? It's not like Kubo is the only author that uses German words for some Attacks, Names etc. . . I've seen a lot of other Mangas doing that and I doubt that it's all inspired from WW2. :|

Oh!!! Welcome to NarutoBase... Hope you'll stick around... :D
Ahh so I was more or less right?
I think it may have something to do with the Soul King as I mentioned before... but at the same time something to do with the Quincy... given the fact they seem to possess a similar power and that a German word appears in their groups name.
Thanks for participating VinceD :D

And thank you for the welcome ;)

We've established that one of them has Quincy-like powers. Maybe it's just him? I doubt that the zero squad or Soul King are involved if they'd all have Quincy powers. But if it was just this one guy...

Oh well.. we really don't know much about the Soul King or zero squad, so it could be related nonetheless.

I think this is a good move, plot-wise. Bringing in the German theme, I've always liked that about the whole Espada/arrancar part (the Spanish theme). My biggest question, will Kubo involve Aizen for this final arc??

Forgive me if I'm wrong... but this initially looked like a spear to me... but at the same time an arrow...

Thanks for participating VinceD :D

Haha yeah at first glace it seems like some spear. But then again, recalling Ishida's words right before he defeated Cirucci:

Haha :p

Anyways, they said "In 5 days, Soul Society will be annihilated by the Vandenreich"

If by Vince's explanation and "Vandenreich" translates into "...of the Empire", then maybe we can assume that they mean "The Empire of (the Quincy)"?

By Kubo's recent interview magazines the next arc will be taking place in a "palace of ice". Perhaps that's the new palace where the Quincy are gathering as a base of some sort similar to Hueco Mundo?

I mean, of course this is a theory as this point but it does make some sense.

I think they are like hollow Quincy... and what they said on beginning of this arc:"Only ones capable of removing hollows from existence itself, are them, and them alone"

We know that Quincy can do that, and now when he said that there are only ones... You deduce :)

So I guess that settles it... I guess the Vandenreich = The Empire.
