Nickname: Vin
Gender: Female

Clan: N/A

Looks:
She is a fine-featured, attractive young woman with an occasional scrape or bruise along her skin. In a crowd she would seem almost ordinary, and her dark hair is short and wavy, which runs along her shoulders. Her true charm comes from her smile, which she inherited from her father. Vin has a slim frame, with toned muscles and lithe fingers. While she is fairly short for her age, she likes to stand tall and look people in the eyes, her round dark brown eyes betraying no insecurities nor lack of confidence.

She wears a dark full-sleeved vest, and a thick dark cloak which branches out into black ribbons at its seams. Using her cloak to obscure the bandages along her arms and torso, her attire makes her seem bigger than she actually is. She wears breeches of a similar dark shade, and matching weathered sandals along her feet. She carries a kunai case strapped to her left thigh, and a pouch of ninja supplies along the small of her back.

Personality:
Brash, hot-headed and outspoken, Vin adores being in charge even if she has absolutely no idea what she's doing. Improvisation is key, and her charismatic persona often wins people over to her side, just as often as she drives them away. She is a good reader of people and enjoys being the center of attention, even if it means placing herself on a pedestal.

Her arrogant nature stems from her lack of parental figures, and no siblings to listen to her, and her drama with other students added immensely to her quality of life. She learned at a young age to relish in conflict, even if it meant playing the bad guy at times. With her father's abscence and the strange nature of his disappearence, she felt an impulsive need to impress the villagers and prove that she was worthy of attention.

Until she received a platoon of ninja under her command one day, she had to make due with growing her reputation for now. Words can be a powerful tool to get what you want, and a priestess knows that better than most. While she has mental barriers to keep people from getting close to her, she realized that she could best understand someone in a fight against them, so she enjoys it immensely.

On the other hand when someone picks a fight with her, she finds it flattering, and a perfect excuse to show off her skills. She isn't spiteful nor disdainful to her opponents, and she has a genuine smile for people whom she enjoy fighting against. If someone refuses to fight her, she might actually follow them around, hoping to find out what makes them tick.

Background Info
History:
As a priest with his daughter, the duo travelled together circulating the teachings of the Will of fire to neighbouring nations. With Vin soon coming to an age where she could enroll into school, her father left her in the care of her aunt, and setting off one day. A few weeks later, her aunt married into a rich merchant's family, and left Vin, to go start her new life with him in Kirigakure.

Unable to support herself in the academy without her aunt's help, Vin was turned away into a seedy orphanage along the outskirts of the city. Harbouring hope that her father might come and find her one day and take her with him, she included herself in the orphanage on her best behaviour, or atleast she tried to. Being an outsider from a different nation, she had it pretty rough as you might expect, fitting in was a challenge as well as finding her identity. The kids received a formal education and three meals a day, but they were barred from entering the village or playing with children from outside of their inclusive congregation.

On a particularly rainy day, a strange hooded man with an animal mask appeared in her room, informing her that her father had passed away in the line of duty, and the ANBU ninja gave her an earring which belonged to him. Upon further inquisition, she learned that her father had been writing to her regularly, even including money for her school. Not only had her aunt kicked Vin out, but Vin realised her aunt had been witholding letters from her father as well.

Wrought with anger, one night she sneaked her way into the luxurious mansion where her aunt lived. She uncovered the letters in the mansion's study, and opened them with tears in her eyes. She barely knew how to read, but she knew enough alphabets to understand the letter. Before she had a chance to escape with them, the same ANBU ninja from appeared, and snatched the letters from her. He congratulated her aptitude for seeking the truth, and promised that he'd return the letters if she sought him out one day. The ninja fled the mansion mentioning to her, to look for the "Root of Konoha" before torching the room and leaving her inside.

As the building blazed around her, she had to make a conscious choice to save her spiteful aunt and her husband, or risk having them consumed by the flames. Biting down onto her lip, she rushed into their bedroom and awoke them before and leading them downstairs and outside to safety. As the villa crumbled behind her, a crowd of panicked villagers had formed around. Coughing to catch her breath and away from immediate danger, Vin passed out.

She awoke the next day with a parched throat, and irons along her wrists. Her aunt had testified that Vin was the culprit behind the blaze, as that Vin had no reason being there. Called for an audience before the Mizukage, she recognised Vin's affinity for chaos and lack of a moral compass. She was conscripted back in the Kirigakure academy; giving her a short lease of life if she had to prove she was worth becoming a Genin. It was just what she always wanted, a chance for redemption, an opportunity to regain her life as a ninja. The Mizukage however gave her something much more valuable- an objective to focus to her anger and to pour her passion into.

She was broken, but she felt strong for the very first time. In the kirigakure institute for war, she had a chance to become a legend herself, if she played the game right, starting from the very bottom of course. A simple law superseded all else- the law of power. Only the strong matter; the weak are irrelevant, and this philosophy dominated her way of thinking and drove her onward to her goals, in the memory of her missing father, and for the mother whom she never had a chance to love.
Goals and dreams:
“The will of fire” happened to burn within everyone, her father used to say. Much for his preaching and taking scripture out of context, he always knew how to comfort her, and she held his memory close to her heart. He was by no means a saint, but he wasn't just a mere priest either. He often disappeared for days at a time, and yet he always returned with a smile. He wouldn't speak of where he went, but he promised her he knew what he was doing, and there was nothing to worry about.

Her musings took another form, the Seven swordsmen of the mist were a symbol of legend, her idols, and while she had no doubt that their triumphs were romanticised, she looked up to them for inspiration. Invincible, serene, and deadly beyond measure. They were calm leviathans, who could control the waves and unleash storms. Myth has some basis in facts after all, and they could probably do things she could only dream about.

The “Root” seemed like an arbitrary lead to go on, as the singular clue provided to her by the ANBU messenger. The collection of records at the library had no mention of such an organisation. Was it even real? These reflections often frustrated her, as she had so few clues to follow, and no one to share this burden with. Her next step of investigation would take her to Konohagakure, of that she had no doubt. She would sneak into Konoha one day, and begin her investigation about "Root", to determine her father's true identity, and as a result her own aswell. She needed a team to pull this off, preferably a platoon. One that was loyal and answered to her. And for this, she would first have to become a powerful ninja.

She focused on water techniques, hoping that the incidents like the blazing villa could be circumvented with the application of water ninjutsu- surely an art made for combat could save lives also. But she still carried the brand by the village, as an arsonist and a miscreant, and the stigma of an outsider While Vin was back in the academy, this time she played a different game. She recited about the will of fire, and more importantly- she owned it. she was the daughter of a priest after all, and her talk of the will of fire only helped stamp her reputation amongst her classmates.

The smart kids kept their away from her, and the smarter kids got behind her. She provided them something exciting, something different from the norm and they loved her for it. She was tough, and in a class of bullies it was in her best interests to give them something to like, and drama wasn't too far off.
