I think people are giving Uzumakis too much credit. Yeah they are super good at fuinjutsu and they have an amazing life force but so what ? I even read a comment that said uzumaki > hyuga because 2 or 3 uzumakis are uber strong. That's pure BS. Nagato was an Uzumaki but how strong was he without Madara's rinnegan ? eh ? Same goes with all the other strong Uzumakis we've known : Mito, Kushina, Naruto. They all had something beside their Uzumaki lineage gifts that made them badasses. In any fight betwenn an Uzumaki and a Hyuga with no other talents but their clan's, mu money is on the Hyuga. Their fuinjutsu won't be of much help if they have no chakra to mold or if their hearts are crushed. Getting physical with a Hyuga is a baaad move.

Inbefore, yeah I know Nagato and Naruto > Hyuga clan. I was just stating that Hyuga abilities > uzumaki abilities.

Like you said, while the Uzumaki have had many powerful shinobi....in general they are more of a sealing clan.....and from what Hiashi has shown, the Hyuga can be monsters in combat. Neji showed the threat in one on one, and Hinata is beginning to show that they can adapt their natural abilities with new ones to produce individual power.....w also have some Hyuga development left unknown.

Uzumakis have greater potential while Hyugas do not. Uzumakis are known for the sealing jutsu and were well known throughout the ninja world and were greatly feared. The Uzumaki body can withstand many difficulties when others can not, like being given the sage's eyes, bijuu and the ability to heal others.

--Plus having such a large chakra pool any of them have the ability to master the sage arts

IMO in combat the Hyugas may be better but the Uzumakis are better in many more fields and are far more practical

Agreed. It's true that Nagato a Rennigan user and Naruto the host of the 9tails are WAY above ANY Hyuga, others like Karin are weak and are not FIGHTING type ninjas.

Itcould probably go either way, but we haven't seen all of what the clan had to offer while they were still at their peak.
When the Uzamaki still had their own village thing the Leaf seen them as such a strong clan that an Uzamaki would marry the Hokage to keep the bonds pure.
Did Naruto use 9-tails in his fight against Neji?
I honestly can't remember.
But, even if Naruto didn't have Kurama he would have been able to master Sage Mode to it's fullest. Which would have been quite strong. He also had the ability to become a very proficient wind user without the Kyuubi's help
Karin can heal people by quite a bit by them just drinking her blood. Pretty awesome.
Kushina and her chains were nearly legendary. Hiruzen himself stated that because of her chain barrier there was nothing anyone could do to interfere with what Minato and Kushina were doing once it was erected. (Sounds so perverted xD)
Her chains were also seen being able to hold down the 9-tails, pretty strong chains.
If Hiruzen couldn't get through the barrier. There isn't a Hyuga that can.
Nagato, he was able to use the rinnegan just about flawlessly. Can't say much for or against him because we can't really say what he was capable of without the rinnegan.

Hyuga: Some gentle fist techs and some rotation. They are pretty disposable, to say the least.

I agree with this. We have seen almost/everything the hyuuga have to offer. While we've yet to see the techniques that made the shinobi world fear the uzumaki clan.
