So the previous Uzumaki clan distinctive trait was their red hair. I know Naruto isn't really the typical Uzumaki clan member. But he is their heir now so Maybe the new trait will be two whisker marks on their cheek. Or do you think every generation loses a whisker mark till there is none left?

I wouldn't really say the whiskers should be considered the "new" trait of the Uzumaki because genetically speaking those whiskers are mostly Naruto due to Kurama being sealed into him, Like The Red Hair being a genetic marker of the Uzumaki.

Mito didn't have the whiskers, why would her children have them? Kushina didn't have them either but yet Naruto grew them and his son Baruto shows having them as well.

This means that their parents being Jin isn't really the determining factor.
Dude! Because she wAs a jink, who gave birth to a child. Same with kishi a, almost the same with naruto

I was discussing this with a friend of mine as well. Assuming that it is a genetic trait developed by having a Jin parent, Boruto's kids will likely not have whiskers. I say this because Tsunade doesn't have whiskers and she was the granddaughter of Mito- a Jin. Plus, we never see Tsunade's parents so we don't know if they have whiskers or not.

It also fits that Kinkaku and Ginkaku developed them because their bodies incorporated Kurama's chakra after they ate the meat of his stomach. But I don't think they'd be able to pass on the trait.

Himawari does have whiskers. When one of your parent is kurama jin(ex. Naruto and Kushina), their child will gain
whiskers due to Kurama chakra.
Okay but the thing is Naruto is a jin and has the whiskers, Kushina and Mito were Jin's and didn't have them even though been Jin's of Kurama like Naruto yet he is the only one to sport them. I understand the children born from Jin parents inherit them but why didn't Mito and Kushina show them is what I'm wondering.

Why Mito and Kushina don't have whiskers? Simple. Their parents aren't Kurama Jins. Before Naruto became a Kurama jin, he already have whiskers. Being Kurama Jin doesn't mean you will have whiskers. It happens the Naruto is the son of Kurama jin and at the same time he is also a Kurama Jin. When the child of Kurama Jin is still in the mother's womb, he/she inherit some chakra from Kurama, which is happened to Naruto.
