Naruto is a fodder, they have a better character development.

Naruto's a likeable guy.

Strengths: strong willed, keeps his promises, values his friends like they are family, very forgiving

Faults: stubborn, forgiving to a fault, abit preachy, not too bright, and a bit naive to the ways of the world.

He's also one of the few people in life that know what they wanted to be growing up and actually followed through and made it happen.

All in all, I'd roll with Naruto over Sasuke, because I'm not fond of people who only see the negative side the world has to offer while ignoring the beauty.
