Urgent Reports
Naruto and Gaara had caught up with the villagers with only an hour left before they arrive at Sunagakure. The journey was very long and extensive; the day was almost at an end. The sun was on the edge of the horizon, Naruto and the villagers could see Sunagakure but they were still quite far from it. They had reached the gate with some time to spare. Some of the villagers had never been to Sunagakure especially the children so for Naruto and Gaara to hear their reactions was quite enjoyable. Gaara had discussed with the villagers of Sunagakure that the villagers of Konoha would be coming to stay while Konoha is under siege. Most of them were okay with it and agreed to put up some of the villagers but others disagreed and wanted Konoha to fend for themselves but Gaara told them to not make a fuss and keep it to themselves. All of the villagers from Konoha were put up in temporary homes. Naruto, Sakura, Lee, Konohomaru and Neji were talking to Gaara outside Sunagakure before their departure.
Gaara: “Your villagers will be kept safe there is no need to worry.”
Naruto: “There would be no need to worry, you are protecting them.”
Naruto and Gaara both smiled at each other then they shook each other’s hands.
Naruto: “It seems like it was only yesterday when I was last here this could be you paying me back.”
Gaara: “I can do nothing to repay you for what you did for me back then, Naruto.”
Naruto: “It was just a friend looking out for a friend Gaara.”
Naruto closed his eyes and a grin appeared on his face.
Gaara: “Thank you, Naruto.” “I will escort the villagers back when the war has finished.”
Naruto: “Thank you, Gaara I hope to see you again soon.”
Naruto: “I’ll thank them when they get here. Also while we’re on the subject of Deidara it would interest you to know that he attacked the villagers while we were moving through the desert but Gaara and I beat him back, we were about to seal him but he was called back by Kabuto.”
Kakashi: “Were any of the villagers hurt?”
Naruto: “No, we managed to protect the villagers.”
Kakashi: “Good your skills have improved greatly, Naruto I’m proud of you.”
Naruto: “Thank you, Kakashi-Sensei.” “Now I was thinking we could discuss battle strategy with Shikamaru so that we are ready.”
Kakashi: “Of course, I will go and get him.”
Author’s Notes: This chapter needed to be a bit shorter because I only wanted to include them getting back to Konoha and that small conversation with Kakashi.
The next chapter will take longer to release because I have reached a pivotal moment in the story where I now really need to think about what is going to happen next, I already have a few good ideas I just need to put them together in order to make it better for everyone.I would also like to thank izinagi54 for his help and assistance when it came to the music and colour.
